Cherries are due to hold a press conference at Dean Court on Friday – with the club’s managerial situation believed to be high on the agenda.
Caretaker boss Lee Bradbury and assistant Steve Fletcher have made an excellent start to life in the hot-seat since being appointed 10 days ago.
Chairman Eddie Mitchell initially asked the pair to take the reins for “three to four games” following Eddie Howe’s departure to Burnley.
And in their first two matches at the helm, Bradbury and Fletcher have steered Cherries into the second automatic promotion berth in League One.
An impressive 0-0 draw at Rochdale just days after Howe had departed was quickly followed by a superb 1-0 home victory over league leaders Brighton.
And following the win over the Seagulls, Mitchell – speaking to the Daily Echo – described Bradbury and Fletcher as the “main contenders” to take the reigns permanently.
Mitchell was also keen to sing the praises of the duo before Cherries had seen off Brighton, saying in Saturday's Echo “nothing would give me more pleasure than to give them the role”.
He added: “I’m not interested in anybody else if, firstly, they want to take the position and, secondly, they can prove that they want to do the work.
“If the team back them like they did at Rochdale then I don’t see any reason to go anywhere else. I don’t want to go anywhere else.”
Meanwhile, the Daily Echo understands Mitchell is still facing a huge task to keep hold of the club’s prize assets ahead of the transfer window closing early next week.
A host of Championship clubs had scouts at Dean Court on Saturday, with Echo sources suggesting some could be ready to test Mitchell’s resolve with bids.
Crystal Palace, Watford, Bristol City, QPR, Ipswich, Middlesbrough, Norwich and Cardiff all sent representatives to the match against Brighton, while Sc**thorpe are understood to have had a scout at Rochdale for last week’s 0-0 draw with Cherries. The Iron, who are already believed to have tabled an unsuccessful bid of £100,000 for skipper Jason Pearce and £50,000 for midfield enforcer Marvin Bartley, are expected to up their offers before the window shuts.
Pearce and Bartley are also likely to be a target for Crystal Palace, while Watford have been keeping tabs on Cherries goalkeeper Shwan Jalal.
And while Marc Pugh, Liam Feeney and Anton Robinson are also understood to be interesting other clubs, Mitchell has insisted the squad will remain intact at least until the end of the season.
