Absolutely excellent, Bushman. That's exactly the one. A classic that exemplifed and epitomized QPR, Loftus Road, Rodneeee and the fans (Was the caption something like "Guess Who Just Did What to Whom?" Spot on Mac

It's an excellent photo. The composition. The shades are brilliant, Rodney's slightly slumped shoulders are brilliant, the blur of the crowd behind is brilliant and the toilet roll splitting the night like a lightning bolt is just fantastic. It's one image I would probably pay a lot to have blown up and framed.
There's a similarly excellent one of the same era with Les Allen sporting a ripped shirt with the School End behind him. I'll see if I can dig it out.

Eyesight fading! Well it's NOT the Morgans, Clarke, Allen, Leach, Hazell, Sibley, Keen or Springett/Kellyl and Lazarus gone by then. Maybe Alan Harris?

(And not having seen it since then)

Note the high quality of the toilet roll, it did not break during the throw. Unlike today, you never see them thrown anymore sadly.

Player in the background could be Keith Sanderson, and sorry the toilet roll looks more like a ticket roll, (let's keep it clean) !

My money is also on Keith Sanderson. But I'm even more delighted to see this photo re-emerge after all this time. I remember it appearing first in the QPR programme and thought it was one of the best football photos ever. As someone said above it typifies everything about QPR and Rodney in those days. It appeared a few years ago in one of the QPR histories (I think by Denis Signy) with the photo attributed to QPR. I immediately phoned the club trying to get a copy of the photo and (typically) was told they couldn't trace it. I think its such a good photo that QPR (or someone) should reproduce it as a large poster. I would certainly want a copy (ideally signed by Rodney) and I am sure there's a few thousand other Rs fans who would gladly cough up a few quid to have it hanging on their wall. Come to think of it I scanned a copy and had it framed for my fellow East Midland fan Laurie Austin for his 60th birthday a couple of years back. So come QPR or whoever, get yer marketing brain going, and get this photo into print. Maybe with the proceeds going to the QPR Youth Development programme.

Keith Sanderson one of the finest amateur players ever on our books.
Yup would recognise a bus ticket roll, as a younger lad 'borrowed' enough from from Alperton station.

Hi Macmoish/Bushman, I'm a football writer and the author of a football nostalgia book called Got, Not Got. I'm doing a piece on Rod Marsh for the forthcoming Man City-QPR programme and would love to use your ace Rod/ticket roll pic to go with my story about the Mark Lazarus + 'Supporters Support Us' single from 1968. I wonder if you've got the pic in a bit more hi-res version? Of course I'll be happy to mention the forum and give full credit. I wonder if you could drop me an email? Thanks very much, Derek PS Great Peter Sellers, David Cassidy and other celebrity pics too!

There's something about that picture. I've not seen it before as it pre-dates me but I am going to print and frame and hang it in me shed son.
Two questions... 1. What season was that? 2. Is it still ok to throw toilet rolls?
