Football League - 18 CLUBS HELP THE BLINDEighteen clubs in The Football League are helping blind and partially-sighted fans enjoy live football. The Royal National Institute for the Blind runs Soccer Sight, a project providing visually-impaired supporters with live audio commentary through stadium headsets, supported by The Football Foundation, We are V and HBOS Foundation.Soccer Sight also advises fans on access to seats and provides large-text signage. Soccer Sight commentators are part-trained by the BBC. The organisation has just launched a new guide outlining how clubs can assist the blind and partially-sighted. A spokesman said: "The standard of service can vary due to factors like resources, location, and changes in club personnel. "What is important is that clubs are aware of the issues, and work on their service to try to reach a standard of excellence for supporters." In the Coca-Cola Championship, the Soccer Sight scheme is operated by Bristol City, Cardiff City, Doncaster Rovers, Ipswich Town, Nottingham Forest, Norwich City, Plymouth Argyle, Swansea City and Watford. The League 1 clubs involved are Brighton & Hove Albion, Hereford United, Huddersfield Town, Peterborough United, Swindon Town and Yeovil Town and in the League 2 clubs are Brentford, Exeter City and Notts County.
