Flashback 6 Years ago yesterday... Georgios Tofas signs till end of season
QPR Official Site
EXCLUSIVE: R'S SIGN TOFASPosted on: Mon 01 Nov 2010 Queens Park Rangers have swooped to bring former AEK Athens midfielder Georgios Tofas to the Club on a deal which runs until the end of the season. The 21 year-old Cypriot joins Rangers as a free agent following his release from Anathorsis Famagusta. Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, Tofas - who has been on trial with Neil Warnock's side for the last few weeks - expressed his delight at joining the R's, commenting: "I'm so happy and excited. "QPR is such a big Club and I'm happy to be here. "I'll give my best for the Club. "My first objective is to get into the team and then show the boss and the supporters what I am capable of." Warnock told http://www.qpr.co.uk: "Georgios is somebody was has excited me when I have watched him. "He looks like our type of player - he can take men on, yet he knows he has to work hard for the rest of the team. He has got the right work ethic. "The chance to bring him in until the end of the season was too good an opportunity for me to turn down." Tofas, who describes himself as an 'offensive player,' is currently sidelined with a minor hamstring injury but is expected to return to full training in the next 10 days. The deal is subject to the Club receiving international clearance for the player.www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2204222,00.html

I had to laugh when I got to the bit that he's injured, he's perfect for us!

He's been released by another club, suggesting something.
And he's certainly not the forward we need.
So good luck to him. If Warnock says take him, I say take him.
But it certainly aint big-spending Mittal money answer to our forward needs

And Evening Standard/Ian Gibb Bs Warnock shows thrifty side Queens Park Rangers can boast the spending power of any Premier League club but old habits die hard for manager Neil Warnock. The former Crystal Palace boss couldn't resist a free deal for Cypriot winger Georgios Tofas until the end of the season. The 21-year-old (right) sounds a bit like the erratic Adel Taarabt β with work rate. Warnock said: βHe has excited me when I've watched him. He looks our type of player, he can take men on β yet knows he has to work hard for the team.β Tofas, who is sidelined with a hamstring problem, said he can't wait to show what he is capable of. www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard-sport/football/article-23893771-football-league-round-up.do

WHO?
We all know what we need... a proven striker or two.
This new signing means nothing to me at present; seems like we may(?) be moving back to the bad old times of signing players who have been released from their clubs, joining us on money-spinning contracts, and worst of all... INJURED!
I just don't get it?
Surely we should be showing a bit of determination to the other clubs in our division that we are committed to automatic promotion?
I bet Baardiff et al are quaking in their boots this morning!!!
