That is a real shock....... When did Nanetti leave? Was this mentioned on the Offy? (I know silly question) Those of us who saw the final game at HQ last season (the under 18's win over Stockport) were pretty impressed with the kid. Real shame if he really has left the club......

According to Birch he blows hot and cold. Fantastic one match, like the Final and useless the next. Shame as when he was on form he was very good.

Agree mate, it would be nice if our club's website actually recognised that we do have a youth set up though.................

They virtually have two websites. Should be able to put the information on one of them This for those who don't want to click on the article above McGlynn vents fury at regulations Raith Rovers boss John McGlynn has hit out at "illogical" regulations that forced him to sign a player without seeing him play. The Stark's Park manager snapped up former Queens Park Rangers midfielder Christian Nanetti earlier this week. The young Italian featured briefly in a reserve game against East Stirling on Tuesday night. However, McGlynn is furious that in order to see what the player was capable of, he had to hand him a contract before he could be allowed to take the field in the officially recognised fixture — a situation he believes is not fair on the club or Nanetti. "I had to sign him as to receive international clearance to allow him to play in a proper game he had to have a contract," he said. "So, despite the fact that I had not seen him in action, I had to sign him on a one-month contract. "People may say, 'Why not play him in a bounce game?' "But I have a small squad, and we have to play reserve fixtures and under-19 matches. "I simply do not have enough players to play bounce games — SPL clubs can do it because they do not have a reserve league. "So, despite the fact that I wanted to play the lad as a trialist, I could not until I had given him a contract. There is no logic in the rules — they just do not make sense. "I have now had to take the player for a month without knowing if he is any good. "I understand the rules are in place to stop a flood of foreigners coming to this country but I am only trying to get a look at one player. "I now have him until the end of October but if things do not work out then he will probably have to wait until the January transfer window to find something else — it is not fair on the player or Raith Rovers." www.thecourier.co.uk/Sport/Football/article/5840/mcglynn-vents-fury-at-regulations.html

The Courier Raith Rovers sign Nanetti from QPRRaith Rovers have bolstered their squad by capturing highly-rated teenager Christian Nanetti from English Championship side Queens Park Rangers. The diminutive 18-year-old Italian attacking midfielder, who was born in Bologna, appeared briefly in Rovers' 3-2 reserve win over East Stirling but has done enough to catch the eye of Rovers boss John McGlynn. Nanetti, who impressed QPR at youth level, has signed at Stark's Park on a short-term deal. Meanwhile, Rovers fans have been asked to note the October 16 derby with Cowdenbeath at Central Park will be all ticket. Details will be announced soon. www.thecourier.co.uk/Sport/Football/article/5704/raith-rovers-sign-nanetti-from-qpr.html

Undecided The Courier McGlynn's verdict still out on Christian Nanetti Raith Rovers boss John McGlynn has still to deliver his verdict on whether he regards new signing Christian Nanetti a worthy addition. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By Neil Robertson Published in the Courier : 08.10.10 The Stark's Park gaffer previously vented his fury that in order to assess the former Queens Park Rangers player in a reserve game, he had to sign him on a one-month contract. The young Italian featured briefly against East Stirling reserves last week and was given a lengthier runout at Livingston on Tuesday. However, McGlynn believes it is still too early to judge the player. He said, "Christian played for about 70 minutes on Tuesday. "All I would say is that we will continue to monitor his progress over the next month." www.thecourier.co.uk/Sport/Football/article/6097/mcglynn-s-verdict-still-out-on-christian-nanetti.html
