Boro Name 22-Man Squad
BORO have submitted to the Football League the names of 22 players over the age of 21 in their npower Championship squad.
Under new Football League rules, clubs must name a squad of a maximum number of 25 players aged 21 or over, which they must select from for first team games between September 1 and the end of the season.
Boro's squad is: Matthew Kilgallon, Justin Hoyte, Matthew Bates, David Wheater, Stephen McManus, Scott McDonald, Kevin Thomson, Kris Boyd, Nicky Bailey, Willo Flood, Leroy Lita, Lee Miller, Barry Robson, Gary O'Neil, Julio Arca, Danny Coyne, Seb Hines, Rhys Williams, Tony McMahon, Tarmo Kink, Marvin Emnes and Mickael Tavares.
Changes to the squad list can be made only during a transfer window - the next being January 1 to January 31 - or at any time by the addition of a currently unemployed player.
The only players not named in Boro's 22-man squad who will be eligible to play for the club before January 1 are under-21 players, players who are currently unemployed or emergency loans.
First team squad members under the age of 21 - and who were not therefore required to be named in the squad registered with the Football League - include Jason Steele, Andy Halliday, Joe Bennett, Luke Williams and Jonathan Franks.
Meanwhile, Boro have confirmed that Franks is due to undergo an operation on a herniated disk this Monday.
