www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A72495930Again from the same fella on 606, CernyBerny (who broke the story about Vine getting paid - please note that this is still to be confirmed from the club). Cernyberny claims that King is at the training ground. I hope to god this isn't true.

If it's so, we'll find out.

I don't much like boo boys, but I hope to god that if we sign King that he gets spat upon and booed off the ground by a majority of QPR-fans.

If he was a young 17 year old I could understand more, but he's 30 years old with 14 convictions in the last 13 years.
No doubt if we sign him we'll get the usual flannel about 'second chances', etc but this guy seems to be beyond redemption.

Back to the junk-yard dog era, which was under manager gate, but this is a new wrinkle,. although cuppla of our Warnock buys have done some time or had some involvement with the strong arm of the law.

Sorry but this is a real issue to me. If we sign King I will lose all respect for the board and for Warnock. That's it, I will not even be happy if we win with him on the pitch, it would just make me feel ill.

if we sign king warnock will really live up to his nick name! i think the fans would be so split on this that it will cause havoc at home games! lets face it king is scum and should not wear our beloved shirt! lot of ring pieces on watrb said they dont care as long as he scores goals! FFS WE HAVE TO HAVE SOME STANDARDS AND MORALS! I WOULD RATHER SEE RANGERS NOT GO UP THAN HAVE THAT BLOKE PLAYING FOR US!!!!!!!!

You get the feeling that King would NOT be the kind of person Bhatia/Mittal would want to be associated with...
Briatore/Ecclestone, etc... I'd say would not be concerned...

whilst not wanting to get too rabid about a rumour, Warnocks comment about King having served time is disappointing. Its true but then why isn't he back at Wigan? Answer: they have a chairman of integrity. Lets hope ours is too.

Yes he is a t0sser but he will be signed by someone & yes he will score a fair amount of GOALS, remember what they do? Yes they win football matches...We are days away from the start of a new season with not one half decent striker on our books...Personally I hope we do sign him. I will not cheer or sing his name but boy I willbe happy to see him hit the back of the net... SIGN HIM UP SIGN HIM UP SIGN HIM UP!!

Right mate but as hes scoring one of his brillliant goals, the Super will be there with a couple of Coppers will be there to cuff him. People dont change. Still since we have Taraabt the Non_Passer we dont need strikers cos he doesnt pass the ball.

He certainly would be a very divisive signing...Cardiff might be more his type of club! Mirrror Coventry, QPR and Cardiff chase ex-jailbird Marlon King Published 23:00 03/08/10 By James Nursey Marlon King is set to miss the opening Championship weekend but is confident of joining a new club next week. Striker King, 30, is available on a Bosman after leaving jail last week. He was freed early after being sentenced to 18 months last October for sexually assaulting and causing actual bodily harm to a woman in December 2008. The forward was immediately sacked by Premier League Wigan Athletic www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Coventry-QPR-and-Cardiff-chase-ex-jailbird-Marlon-King-article544291.html

In case didn't see, I posted this earlier on another King thread King gets a new PR Firm www.onlineprnews.com/news/50598-1....-one-month.html "...Online PR News – 02-August-2010 – Leading London PR agency, PHA Media, continues to go from strength to strength, gaining ten new clients in the last month alone. Each department at the PR agency has celebrated new account wins, and all of the new clients are great additions to PHA’s already exciting and impressive client list.... Other notable names to have joined are Marlon King the former Premiership footballer. Having first made his name as a talent on the football pitch, King suffered as his name became tarnished off it. He has taken PHA on to make sure that his story is heard and to help him regain and manage his reputation for his skills on the football pitch. The team at PHA welcome all their new clients on board, and look forward to working with them over the coming months [Note: This was our other Marlon King Thread... qprreport.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=15257&page=2

an atrocity to sign someone with this record. Makes me wonder about Warnock also. His pursuit of Taraabt to Morocco. Spurs only too happy to get rid of him, no other team wanted him. A huge ego that plays only when he wants to. No one I,d spend a lot of money on. Again wonder about Warnocks judgement.

Gee thanks, two posters feel we are sad, sad people.
Replace sad with prinicpled and you may be a hell of a lot closer to the truth.
Sign him and we can replace "family club" with scumbag club".
That would make me feel sad.

This wont happen, it can't happen. Can it? I mean this sincerely (you know me by now) if he signs EVERY away match this season will be horrible for you travelling fans. Arghhhhhh, there's no justice in this world is there and a fantastic message to send out to the kids if it happened, which I sincerely don't believe it will.

Suppose hypothetically, the club ignores the opposition and goes ahead. Then what?
I'd be disturbed, etc...I will think it sends the wrong message.
But how many people's opposing the signing translate into action?
Obviously I'm not going to stop going over this! Are many (any) going to stop going to QPR over this?
I'm still going to want us to win...
And if we get a last minute penalty, and we need to score to win...And King takes it: I presume I'll want him to score

Agree but the club shouldnt put us into that position in the first place! just dont sign him simple as that! i can really see it kicking off between home fans as some will cheer while others boo! is it really worth it for a average 30 year old player??? who made his name on one good season at watford! i think not others will disagree im sure! we really should have solved this stirker situatiion months ago, lets face we will only be after king because he is cheap! oh an also he is a scum-BAG sorry ther i go again being a sad moral r,s fan!!!

If the club signs King I will put up an appropriate banner of disapproval until the day he is sold on my website and I don't give a shit how many goals he scores for us.

What a sad state of affairs that we should even be discussing the rights and wrongs of signing Marlon King. First thing to say is that what we think doesn't matter in any way whatsoever, the present hierarchy have never listened to the fans from day one. When we consider the "morals" of our illustrious betters - Paladini Briatore Ecclestone etc.,etc. ( what a shining example to us all they are ) - it should come as no surprise that King might be thought to be an OK guy. These are the people who fed us a regular diet of bullshit, higher prices, unkept promises, getting rid of any talent in the youth set up and insults to the loyal fans, so Marlon probably seems an ordinary kind of person to them. As for the people who say "as long he scores goals". Just how low are you willing to go for a football result in your favour. King is not the kind of person I wish to see wearing a Hoops shirt, and if he does, Loftus Road is not a place I want to be.
