And Arsenal Goal.com
Arsenal given £65m season ticket boost despite Cesc Fabregas uncertainty * 33,000 of 35,000 season tickets renewed by June 1 deadline * Most of 6,700 Club level sold out22 Jun 2010 11:50:0 By Wayne Veysey | Chief correspondent Arsenal have been given a £65 million boost from strong season ticket sales despite concerns about the future of skipper Cesc Fabregas. Goal.com UK understands that 33,000 of the 35,000 general admission season ticket holders had extended for the 2010/11 season by the June 1 club deadline. In addition, only a few hundred of the 6,700 Club level seats, such a huge money-spinner for the club, remain unsold. The news is a relief for the club given the uncertainty over whether Fabregas will remain at Emirates Stadium beyond this summer. Barcelona have continued their public pursuit of the Spaniard despite having a £29m offer firmly rejected by Arsenal earlier this month and are expected to step up their bid to land the midfielder over the next few weeks. There was concern among senior Arsenal figures that a poor finish to last season coupled with the possibility of losing Fabregas would lead to disillusionment among supporters but this appears to have been largely avoided. Cash-rich | Wenger has a £45m transfer kitty as club's financial position strengthens Ninety-five per cent of the rank-and-file supporters have renewed for another season at the 60,000-capacity Emirates Stadium and the uptake of the lucrative executive facilities, which include 150 executive boxes and generate 35 per cent of all matchday revenue at Arsenal, has also remained strong. However, sources say it has required a “massive push” at the club to sell the Club level season tickets, which cost between £2750 and £4750, over the last month. It is understood that staff have had to turn to the seasonal waiting list to fill the seats. Nevertheless, the impressive sales mean that £65m of matchday revenue has already been secured for the forthcoming season. Arsenal plan to earn between £90m and £100m each campaign from ticket revenues, with the remainder plugged by tickets that are sold on a match by match basis, cup ties played in excess of the season ticket’s 26-match allowance and the 3,000 allocation for away supporters. Although this cash injection will in no way affect manager Arsene Wenger’s summer transfer kitty, which is believed to be £45m, the club’s financial position continues to strengthen. The club recently announced that the Highbury Square project is now debt free and experts anticipate that it will make a £35m profit over the next few years. www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2010/06/22/1989186/arsenal-given-65m-season-ticket-boost-despite-cesc-fabregas

Norwich expanding/Adding Seats (Squeezing...!)Norwich Official Site
BUILDING WORK ONGOING AT CARROW ROAD BUILDING work continues at Carrow Road to increase the capacity of the ground to 27,000 for the 2010-11 npower Championship campaign. The additional seats will be added throughout the ground with the Norwich and Peterborough Stand seeing the biggest increase. There will be 280 seats installed in the lower tier with the addition of two new rows at the front, while 160 will be added to the upper tier by reconfiguring the existing seats. The Jarrold Stand will see 250 seats added at the front, while likewise in the City Stand, 165 seats will be installed and the Upper Barclay will have 160 new seats. All supporters who have existing seats in adjacent rows to the works being carried out have been written to by the Club, with the option to move into the new seats if they wish. "The building work has been going on at Carrow Road since the start of June," said Customer Services Manager Richard Gough. "Where a new front row is being installed, supporters in existing seats will still have the same view of the pitch. "The new front row of seats in the Geoffrey Watling City Stand will be at pitch level as it is a raised stand. Over in the Jarrold Stand, they are removing the front apron and lowering it slightly. "The Upper Barclay will have a new back row of seats installed so no one in an existing seat will be affected by these additions." As confirmed on Tuesday, there are a limited number of season tickets still available for sale before reaching our 20,500 cap. Don't forget you can also purchase your tickets to City's home pre-season friendlies against Newcastle United and Everton and the away friendlies against Dereham Town and Lincoln City. www.canaries.co.uk/page/NewsDetails/0,,10355~2077805,00.html

And at Southampton
Southampton Official Site Season Ticket Sales Soar Posted on: Tue 20 Jul 2010 Saints fans have echoed the Club's ambitions for the forthcoming campaign as season ticket sales sail through the 13,000 mark. Season ticket sales are now well past the 13,000 mark, far in excess of the total number from last year which also included half season ticket sales. Sales have increased for the second consecutive year, with fans clamouring to get their hands on the hottest tickets in town ahead of Saints' golden 125th anniversary season. With savings of over £180 to be had against the cost of buying on a match day, meaning that fans can come to St Mary's for just £17 per game and children under 8 admitted absolutely free when accompanied by an adult, tickets were always going to be in demand as the team set their sights on a return to the Championship. "With everything going on at the Club at the moment, and with such a positive structure being implemented behind the scenes, it really is a great time to be associated with Southampton Football Club" explained Club Spokesman Jordan Sibley. "The fans have really got behind the vision of where the Club is heading under Nicola Cortese, and have come forward in their thousands to be part of what looks set to be another fantastic season. "With over three weeks to go until the start of the season there is still plenty of time for those fans who are yet to purchase their tickets to do so before the 6th August deadline, and ensure they don't miss a minute of the action at the discounted rate that the season ticket provides." www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2096359,00.html

I wish these other clubs could keep up with us and our sales. I'm blown away. I wonder if the extortionate prices might have something to do with it?

Glad to know the 'fans' have really got 'behind the vision of where the Club is heading'. Without any information as to where the club is 'heading' - perhaps 'in front' - it is difficult to be precise about where 'behind' actually is.
And the Saints have 'what looks set to be another fantastic season' in store. 'Set' meaning ...... count on it? Or is it just likely. Reasonably likely. Well, you never know. It COULD happen.
Didn't supporters always look forward to the new season before it happened? Hard to do otherwise at this stage. And didn't they always buy tickets?
