Young R's front-man Angelo Balanta has penned a season long loan deal with MK Dons.
The 19 year-old, who was restricted to just four appearances in all competitions for the R's last season, links up again with former R's number two John Gorman, who is currently the understudy to new Dons boss Karl Robinson.
R's boss Neil Warnock told http://www.qpr.co.uk: "I just think Angelo needs to get out and play games and MK Dons will allow him to do that.
"He's worked with John in the past and he'll relish the opportunity to make a few headlines there."I guess he must have signed a new contract then......

ROBBO BAGS WINGER BALANTAMK Dons manager Karl Robinson has completed another exciting signing for the 2010/11 season, with the loan capture of Queens Park Rangers winger Angelo Balanta. Colombian-born Balanta will join the Dons on 1st July - his 20th birthday - in a season-long loan move from Loftus Road, becoming Robinson's fifth new recruit of a busy summer. A genuine threat from the left flank or operating in a more central role, Angelo will add a different dimension to the Dons attack and is sure to be a huge hit with the stadiummk faithful. Assistant manager John Gorman, who worked with Balanta during his time with the R's under Jim Magilton, thinks the Dons have brought in a genuine match-winner. He told mkdons.com: "Angelo is only 19, but he has so much potential. He's a wonderful talent and we're fortunate to have acquired him because there will have been plenty of clubs in the hunt. "He was a revelation during his three months on loan with Wycombe during their promotion campaign so hopefully he can come here and do the same kind of job. "He'll be a very exciting player for the fans to watch. He's genuinely two-footed and will offer us something different either off the left flank or as a striker." Born in Santiago de Cali, Balanta moved to England at the age of six and grew up in Fulham. His football career began as a 16-year-old when he was discovered by QPR playing Sunday League youth football for Brunswick. He quickly impressed in the R's Youth Team and, after making his debut as a scholar, signed his first professional contract in January 2008. A month later he scored his first senior goal in a 1-1 draw with Sheffield United at Loftus Road. Balanta started the 2008/09 season with the Hoops before joining Wycombe on loan in November. During his three months at Adams Park, he was nothing short of sensational, scoring three goals in 11 appearances to help the Chairboys secure crucial points over the Christmas and New Year period. He made four appearances for QPR last term during a season which saw the R's make five different managerial appointments. With new boss Neil Warnock looking to experience to help push his side towards a promotion bid next season, Balanta has the chance to get some first team football with the Dons as they look to mount their own bid for a place in the Championship. www.mkdons.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10420~2066494,00.html

Balanta's few and far between performances last season where as not as good as the previous season when he first broke into the first team. It definately does not help a young player trying to establish himself in the first team with so many different managers in such as short period, for the managers don't even get enough time to get to know their starting 11 let alone the players on the periphery of the first team. Again with Warnock building what is looking like will be a tough physical and experienced side, Balanta is best served elsewhere as it's critical for him to play first team football week in week out. It's positive in that we have not deemed him surplus to requirements at the club as well, as we have not looked to sell him and it show's the board is willing to hold onto him as an asset on the pitch rather than try and flesh out the transfer budget by selling him as well as intent for the future. A good move for all involved.
