QPR Official Site STEWART UPDATE Posted on: Sat 10 Apr 2010 Damion Stewart has been transferred to a private hospital in central London after suffering a fractured skull and a small bleed into the brain following a sickening collision with Crystal Palace's Calvin Andrew this afternoon. The R's defender was stretchered off in the opening minute of the game at Selhurst Park after the accidental aerial collision with the Palace striker. QPR Head Physio Paul Hunter told http://www.qpr.co.uk: "Obviously we are concerned about Damion. "He was taken straight to Mayday Hospital in Croydon and has now been transferred to the neurosurgical ward of a private hospital. "He has a fracture at the front of his skull and there is a small bleed into the brain. "On a scale of seriousness with such a matter, this is at the lower end. "Damion is sitting up and talking, which is obviously encouraging. "He will now undergo further assessment and observation." www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2020704,00.html

Dang, I wish him a speedy recovery despite not being his greatest fan. Thge other guy went off about 12 mins later. i would say he had a big concussion too judging by the welt on the side of his head.

After about twenty minutes I thought, as usual a Rangers manager stumbles on a formation. I thought that back four were excellent. Toesitch looked class, dodgy dive from a "typical foreigner" dive from an elbow, two misplaced passes, that was about all he did wrong. Liked him a lot, sign him up. Ramage was superb and Legs always looks better at right back that centre mid. Worked out well for us. Cerny stopped a few hit straight at him but only really had to make one decent save.
Got a call from my lad last night to say Stewart's specialist said he would never play again but having seen confirmation of this. i wish him well, it didn't look like much happened but then we were a long way from it.

STABLE NIGHT FOR STEWART Posted on: Sun 11 Apr 2010 Damion Stewart has had a "stable night" in hospital following yesterday afternoon's sickening head collision with Crystal Palace's Calvin Andrew at Selhurst Park. The R's defender was stretchered off after the accidental clash in the opening minute with what turned out to be a fractured skull and bleeding into the brain. QPR Head Physio Paul Hunter has been with Stewart since the end of the game - the Jamaican was accompanied to Croydon's Mayday Hospital during the match by Assistant Physio Shane Annun - and Hunter has reported good news regarding the centre-back's recovery. "Damion had a stable night in a private London hospital," Hunter told www.qpr.co.uk"He has seen the neurosurgeon again this morning, and will undergo further tests tomorrow. "I am pleased to report the bleeding into the brain has stopped but we will continue to monitor his status on an hourly basis. "Damion has shown normal neurological signs throughout, which is very reassuring." www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2021087,00.html

Good news but probably not so for his football career.
Very pleased that the club is keeping everyone informed.
