Got my renewal letter yesterday for next season offering the same price as this season as long as I renewed by 31st May.

If this price is a precedent then I'm assuming that either the prices for next season are staying the same for all parts of the ground or there will be a very slight decrease if anything at all for the early bird price or it will be the same and then rising after the early bird cut off date.

I was hoping that prices would come down slightly in reflection of our position in the league but the club are pushing the recent changes as reasons for 'great optimism' and seem to want to forget entirely about the failed promises of the past two years and the literal abuse some fans had to suffer from the mouth of the orange donut.

For me it's too little too late and was hoping the club would reduce all prices by about 12-15% across the stadium in the hope of getting some fans back who have been priced out and only goes to further the 'meet your new boss, same as your old boss' feeling that unfortunately seems to be more so now as their plans have not seemed to have changed, just the faces and the style in which they manifest.

I hope they rest of the stadium comes down in price massively and I'm wrong in the assumption above but from what I have received personally so far it seems that the high prices are here to stay.

If I am correct though who here, like me, will renew immediately and who won't?

'COME HOME TO LOFTUS ROAD'

Queens Park Rangers has launched a new Season Ticket scheme that is designed to significantly benefit Season Ticket Holders.

The Club has kept the matchday prices the same as last year, and QPR Season Ticket Holders could save up to a mouth-watering 15 per-cent on their Season Ticket thanks to the Club's unique deal for the 2010/11 campaign.

After thorough diligence and consultation with various fan groups over the last few weeks, the Club is delighted to announce details of the new and unique scheme, which the Club believes will provide great value for money for QPR supporters.

R's fans who purchase a Season Ticket between now and the Early Bird deadline of May 17th 2010 will be entitled to at least a 10 per-cent saving on standard prices.

In addition, fans will be guaranteed a further five per-cent saving should the Club reach their intended target of 9,000 Season Ticket Holders before the first league fixture of the 2010/11 season in August. Supporters will be informed of how many sales have been made via www.qpr.co.uk, with weekly updates provided from the start of June. Should the 9,000 figure be hit, supporters will be able to claim their discount, in the form of voucher (which can be exchanged for cash) from the QPR Box Office before the end of 2010.

Moreover, the Club has finalised a deal with Zebra Finance, which will allow Season Ticket Holders to pay for their Season Ticket over a three month period, at zero per-cent interest.

The Club has also introduced special offers for Families in the QPR Family Stand. For example, a family of four can sit in our designated Family Stand in the Lower Loft for as little as £999.00.

Finally, QPR is introducing a Westfield Reward scheme, whereby Season Ticket Holders will be entitled to substantial discounts in various stores at the Westfield Shopping Centre. A few select stores have partnered with QPR on the initiative already, and more stores will be added to the scheme before the start of the 2010/11 season.

In summary, the major benefits of the new scheme are:

*A guaranteed 10 per-cent Early Bird saving on standard prices

FAQ's from supporters

I am an existing Season Ticket Holder. Will my existing seat by kept for me for next season?
Yes, but only if you renew your seat by May 17th 2010. After this date all unclaimed seats for 2010/11 will be released for general sale.

I regularly attend QPR matches with a mate and our two children. Why can't we buy a family ticket and sit together?
The family offer is specifically targeted at family members or close relatives and is intended to encourage families and their friends to come to Loftus Road together and build the Club's support for the future. Identification may be requested by the Box Office to confirm eligibility.

How do we know when the Club is approaching 9,000 Season Ticket sales?
Weekly updates will be provided on www.qpr.co.uk to keep fans abreast of the situation, starting from June 1st 2010.

How will I be reimbursed my extra five per-cent if the Club hits 9,000 Season Ticket holders?
Supporters will receive their five per-cent discount by way of a cash back reward. Supporters can either claim their discount back in cash from the QPR Box Office, or take advantage of a QPR Superstore voucher.

Which stores are currently on board for the Westfield Rewards Scheme?
There are three at present - Meat & Wine, Hawes & Curtis and Caffe Concerto. More stores will be added in the next few months, and a full listing of stores will be provided on the website before the start of the new season.

How do I apply to pay over three months, at zero-percent?
Simply fill out the zero-percent form and return it as part of your Season Ticket application - you must apply by April 30th 2010. Once your credit application has been approved you will receive written confirmation of your payment dates.

What are the improved facilities in Ellerslie Road?
Betting kiosks will be available and our intention is to drastically improve facilities in this area for the start of the season. We are awaiting various external approvals, and will keep our supporters updated over the coming months.

For the W12 club it's a separate issue though.

I'm actually slightly pleased by the 10% rising to 15% reduction on condition of 9,000 sold. I'm not a big fan of the idea that the club will only reward the loyal supporters if enough of them come but such is the damage that the new board have inflicted upon the club in the last two seasons I can understand why they need the help of the fans to sell tickets.

As I'm not affected by the 10% rising to maybe 15% reduction my-self I would be very interested to know what fan's that are think about the prices.

Is this enough or should the club have done more to win back the 'lost' supporters?

The fact that the family stand is still uncovered is not acceptable though and makes me question what was actually discussed in the last fan's meeting as that is still disgraceful in my opinion.

There are also no guarantees given over the fact that if you use all the club's special offers over the course of the season that a season ticket will actually represent better value for money.

Seems to me that we still have some way to go before the spin and marketing stops and honest prices return.

For me that is not good enough. The reduction should be on the actual price of the ticket come May 18th. The prices really need to come down.

By keeping them the same the club have effectively tried to ignore how the fan base has been treated in the immediate wake of the takeover and by keeping the lower loft as the family stand and the ticket prices the same as last year the club has failed in my opinion to make any serious attempt to get back the fans it has lost and still minimal investment and high prices remain as a priority rather than the fans.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

'Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.'

I mean I could see it another way, in that case my early renewal saved me 16.65% on the actual price so I got a very good deal, but when you pay the same price every year on a promise yet to be fulfilled what does the term 'reduction' actually mean?

I cant afford a season ticket but I try to get to a match when I can. I think charging 30 quid to sit in the upper loft is a joke and was hoping match day ticket prices would come down! I think 20 quid to sit anywhere in the ground is fair. Lets face it the football at times this year has been crap! I cant see the casual fan coming back to rangers till the ticket prices come down. Its just to bloody dear!!!

Perhaps it's an unforeseen side-effect of treating the Club as a business, and the supporters as customers.

In a business, you don't just pay up for years and take whatever old rubbish the business provides.

You either go elsewhere, and as that isn't an option for football supporters as a rule - chiefly because they aren't actually customers at all - you wait until the 'product' reaches the proclaimed standard.

Cash on delivery, as it were.

Quite apart from the matter of being able to afford it.

But I'm sure they know best. Losing £18 million in a single season to achieve yet another struggle against relegation to the third tier must indicate SOMETHING unusual is going on.

Even if it isn't in the field of experience, know-how, intelligence, understanding, goodwill or talent.

Although the prices are not really reduced unless you earlybird they have made other efforts. The return of the family memberships option is a good one. Westfield shyte doesn't interest me but may well be liked by many. The interest free three payments is helpful. Free league cup game if drawn at home. Additional discount dependant on sales.

Some effort has actually gone into this, as much as I would like to have seen the prices slashed did you really think that was likely? Yes we are captive consumers but the choice to buy or not to buy is still there.

Could be a bargain as it's our last season in the championship.

Westfield stuff-very few retailers involved and none that I would go to anyway.

Reduction for PU/JU block-presumably because they cant see the screen?

ST replacement £10-isn't this still more than others who use 'credit card' style tickets? Reading is £5 I believe.

Price-Biggest no-no for me. Fulham have ST's for £285 and the majority are less than £549. Despite price increases Burnley's most expensive is £512. West Brom's for the current year are £449 maximum which works out at a saving of almost £200 compared to walking up for each game on the day.

In effect we are being screwed pver yet again. Despite the sugared words emanating from the people up top it is no more than just a fancy smokescreen to cover the fact that we will still be paying prices that the upper echelons of the premiership would be used to. It's unnacceptable and I (for the second consecutive year) can not justify the cost of purchasing one.
