Roberto Herrers is Torquay United's Liaison Officer This is South Devon College link going from strength to strength Saturday, March 20, 2010, 07:00T ORQUAY UNITED'S Youth Development link with Paignton Community Sports College is moving into its third year, boosted by the availability of the College's new state-of-the -art 3G 'artificial grass' pitch and coaching room. The Soccer Course is attracting boys from all over the country — one young Canadian player also moved to Paignton so he could join. They tackle a range of academic, football and sport qualifications under the guidance of United's Liaison Officer, former Fulham and QPR defender Robbie Herrera, and the College coaches. Earlier this season College pupil Saul Halpin became the first player from the programme to sign a full pro contract with United. Other boys have earned trainee contracts at Plainmoor and forced their way into the Gulls' youth team.
