2002
Blackburn Rovers defeat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 to take the Worthington Cup at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff and book themselves a UEFA Cup spot next season.
Matt Jansen gives Rovers the lead, before Christian Ziege restores parity for Spurs in the first half. Andy Cole scores the winner with 22 minutes remaining.
A calamitous mistake by Ledley King, after good pressure from Jansen, allows Andy his third real chance, two fewer than Glenn Hoddle's assertion that the striker needed five to score!
It is Blackburns first cup triumph for 74 years and their first-ever League Cup victory in what was a thrilling encounter. The victory also means that, in the space of seven seasons, with Blackburn and Manchester United, Andy has won all three domestic trophies plus a European trophy.
