(NOT My Sources!)Four Four Two - Warnock on Way to QPR Cash-strapped Crystal Palace look set to lose their manager as Neil Warnock’s move to QPR looms. The Eagles boss stormed out of his post-match press conference on Saturday when asked if he had spoken to Queens Park Rangers about becoming their new manager. Reports have been circulating in recent weeks that Warnock had spoken to the Loftus Road outfit even before the season started. Although Warnock has insisted publicly that he is staying at Selhurst Park despite the club going into administration, a Palace insider involved with the administration process told FourFourTwo: “He has spoken with QPR twice. "Compensation hasn't been agreed with Palace and Steve Parish [the club's prospective buyer] has personally spoken with Warnock to ask him to stay. "For certain, he met with QPR before Jim Magilton got the job. Parish believes that Warnock will almost certainly go.” Palace’s desperation for cash is such that they may even let the man who has kept the team going under such difficult circumstances, leave on the cheap. One source told FourFourTwo: “There is definitely a £1 million compensation clause in his contract, but I doubt the club would hold out for that much.” Now 61-years-old, Warnock has often said that he wants to manage in the Premier League one last time before he retires, and he is now far more likely to achieve that goal with the financial backing available at Loftus Road than at Palace. Warnock has become somewhat of a cult hero amongst Palace fans since his arrival in October 2007, and the message from the Selhurst Park faithful was loud and clear. A statement from one noted Palace supporter states: “The Palace fans really want Neil Warnock to stay and help us stay up and give us some hope in the FA Cup. We know it is hard but he has done so much for the club and we need him now more than ever.” In the meantime Palace have a midweek FA Cup replay at Aston Villa. A win will go a long way to ensuring that the club has the necessary funds to see out the rest of the season – with or without Warnock. And the Times Times February 24, 2010 Neil Warnock set to say farewell to Crystal Palace after FA Cup tie Crystal Palace manager expected to leave for Queens Park Rangers after FA Cup fifth-round replay with Aston VillaGary Jacob Neil Warnock is expected to try to take players and backroom staff from Crystal Palace should he resign from his managerial post after tonight’s FA Cup fifth-round replay against Aston Villa. Queens Park Rangers, Palace’s fellow Coca-Cola Championship side, are willing to offer Warnock up to £1.25 million a year, including bonuses, about £500,000 more than he earns at present. Warnock fears for the future of Palace, who are in administration. “It’s disappointing and frustrating but it’s gone now,” he said. “We are in administration and we are in a mess, and now I can’t bring any players in.” Aston Villa (possible; 4-4-2): B Friedel — C Cuéllar, J Collins, R Dunne, L Young — A Young, J Milner, F Delph, S Downing — N Delfouneso, E Heskey. You can't 'ave him - So fook off for once and for all please Warnock would welcome American takeoverPALACE manager Neil Warnock said it would be "fantastic" if the club were taken over by Texan multi-millionaire Clark Hunt. Reports emerged this morning that Hunt, owner of NFL outfit the Kansas City Chiefs and MLS sides Colmubus Crew and FC Dallas, was leading the race to save the Eagles from administration. It now seems that the battle for control at Selhurst Park is two pronged - with Hunt's American consortium fighting it out with the group led by TAG chief executive and Palace fan Steve Parish.

I think most on here think he's coming but I can't say I'm bothered either way. What the consensus amongst Palace fans?

I think most on here think he's coming but I can't say I'm bothered either way. What the consensus amongst Palace fans? Yes, it's frustrating to hear such confidence from QPR fans that he's on his way to you. My Boss is a QPR fan so I enjoy the banter on a daily basis Consensus amongst Palace fans, I'd say, is frustration much like myself. But I'm holding on to the hope and keeping my spirit high CPR that Hunt will ride into town and indeed steal the show. Warnocks silence has been deafening and to me it mean't he was off but his recent actions (last 24 hours) seems to imply something different.

Well, i hope he stays at Selhurst, firstly for Palace, we all have our rivalrys, but no one really wants to see clubs in the money poo, and secondly, more importantly, He isn't a QPR man. He just isn't.
Think Hateley, Jones, Ruddock etc - it's just wrong for us.

So how come Palace keep having youth players coming through (for years and years and years) - and QPR don't?

Their academy was in place long before Colin.
I hope Colin stays put, I agree with Des.

If we had 10 more points and were assured safety, I really wouldn't want Warnock. He's ok (more than ok). But he's not the second coming. This is not like the appointment of Terry Venablesc or Gerry Francis when their appointments were vital to QPR

Quite, he has feelings for alice, why let them down.
Unless he is not being paid of course, he has alluded to problems in the last six months.
Hope he stays with you Magyar.

The Mirror Warnock plans raid on Palace Published 23:00 23/02/10 By Neil McLeman Recommend Neil Warnock has given QPR a list of Crystal Palace players he wants to bring to Loftus Road. The Eagles boss is set to leave the Selhurst Park club and move across London after tonight's FA Cup replay at Aston Villa. Rangers are ready to pay £1.5million in compensation to a club in administration since last month. Warnock, 61, will maintain his status as the Championship's highest paid manager with a two-and-a-half year contract worth £1m a season. The former Sheffield United boss hopes to take his signings Darren Ambrose and Neil Danns - as well as teenage defender Nathaniel Clyne. Former Palace favourites Gareth Southgate and Steve Coppell will be the frontrunners to take the job at Palace. QPR have yet to make an official approach to Palace administrator Brendan Guilfoyle, who is in talks with three parties interested in buying the club. But Warnock, who claimed he had been trying to arrange a meeting with Guilfoyle, said yesterday: "I have seen so many prospective new owners over the past 12 months - looking like Samaritans to come and save us - I will take it with a pinch of salt until they show their money." www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Neil-Warnock-hopes-to-take-Crystal-Palace-trio-with-him-when-he-quits-club-for-QPR-article333835.html

Sporting Life AMBROSE FEARS WARNOCK EXIT By Andy Sims, Press Association Sport Crystal Palace midfielder Darren Ambrose admits losing manager Neil Warnock would be a massive blow for the club. The Eagles travelled to Aston Villa for Wednesday night's FA Cup replay with speculation growing that Warnock will take over at London rivals QPR next week. But Ambrose is hopeful the 61-year-old will be persuaded to stay at Selhurst Park. "He's massively important to us. He's the one who keeps us afloat and he's done a fantastic job this year under the circumstances," he said. "We knew about this game before all the speculation started, and all the lads and the manager are concentrating on the game. "The players haven't spoken much about it because no one really knows what's going on. All we can do is take it as speculation and get on with our jobs." Palace's cup run has provided some welcome relief in south London, with the club in administration and inside the Coca-Cola Championship relegation zone. They were just three minutes from knocking out Martin O'Neill's side in the first match before Stilian Petrov grabbed a controversial equaliser. "We're in good spirits despite dropping into the relegation zone. It's the FA Cup and it's a massive tie," added Ambrose, whose stunning 35-yard free-kick had put Palace 2-1 up. "They knew they were in a game at Selhurst and we are underdogs again but we like it like that. We've pulled off a lot of shocks this year and we are looking for another one. "They are a good team. They are battling for fourth in Premier League and they deserve to be there. But we showed at Selhurst we have got enough to battle and compete with teams like that." Administration brought with it the 10-point penalty which transformed Palace from play-off hopefuls to relegation battlers. But despite dropping into the bottom three after Saturday's defeat by Coventry, Ambrose is confident they can avoid the drop into League One. "I hope we don't go down, I'm sure we won't, I can't even think about that," he said. www.sportinglife.com/football/nationwide1/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/10/02/24/SOCCER_Palace_Ambrose.html&TEAMHD=nationwide1

Thanks folks, hope he stays too. Many of these stories are fantastic in their claims you have to admit. I mean the one from the Mirror is a farce - "Neil Warnock has given QPR a list of Crystal Palace players he wants to bring to Loftus Road". Laughable. We got a real battle tonight and the media sound like they have it in for Warnock with all their unsettling reports. There's clearly nothing else in the sporting world for them to talk about lol. If you DO get NW, it'll be at the end of the season imo

I'd have to say that if Warnock does not come now, if QPR are truly ambitious, we'll appoint even better. If we don't that will say something about our goals and spending plans
It must be tough to be a Palace fan, because I can think of 3 or 4 or 5 times that you've almost made it (Malcolm Allison/Don Rogers era); Venables Team of the 80s, and subsequently; and then just crashed down..

I am surprised actually that you haven't already appointed Curbs unless an undisclosed agreement has been made with NW? Now Flabio is out of the way maybe your club can crack on? It's always been tough being a Palace fan lol The rollercoaster ride continues.

If QPR want him and he wants to go to QPR it should happen now, don't wait for him to do this or that at Palace. He either comes or not, don't sit around waiting for him.
What a joke we are.

Agree, you should be pusghing for someone who really wants to come on-board and help out. Not someone who is half in half out and only concerned about how much their wages and pay off would be. (If you are to believe all these stories in the papers)
