Barnet Official SiteFURLONG TO GO TO MOORFIELDS Posted on: Sun 21 Feb 2010 Paul Furlong, Barnet's evergreen striker, will attend Moorfields Eye Hospital in London early this week after being hit by a fiercely struck ball in the face from close range during the 2-0 win at Port Vale. The 41-year-old, who played a starring role alongside two-goal John O'Flynn at Vale Park, spent three hours at the Staffordshire General Hospital in Stoke with manager Ian Hendon after the team travelled back to London. Furlong, who had complained of black spots in his vision, was given a thorough examination during three hours at the hospital. He was advised to go to Moorfields for a check when the swelling where the ball hit him subsides. Hendon, who had travelled to Bury on Friday to watch next Saturday's opponents beat Shrewsbury Town 1-0, drove Furlong back to London late in the evening.
