[Thanks Mr. Matt Pickens]Paul Warburton/London InformerRowan Vine set for QPR exit ROWAN Vine is set to join Brighton & Hove Albion on loan – if the League One side can afford his wages. QPR have set up a deal with Gus Poyet's team that allows the striker to get a run of games and rekindle his form. The fly in the ointment is the relegation-threatened side have to find £5,000-a-week wages, with Hoops paying the balance. The misfiring frontman has scored just once in 26 games for Rangers this season. www.fulhamchronicle.co.uk/london-sport/london-qpr/2010/02/17/rowan-vine-set-for-qpr-exit-82029-25853721/

Argus Poyet plays down Vine link Wednesday 17th February 2010 Brian Owen » Gus Poyet today played down reports linking him with an imminent loan swoop for Rowan Vine. But the Albion boss admitted the QPR striker was one of many players he was keeping tabs on. Vine is being linked with a switch south if the Seagulls can afford to pay him £5,000 a week. Poyet said: "I've not spoken to him and I've got plenty of names on my list. "I'm not say definitely 'no, he's not coming' but we are interested in many things. "If he wants to come for free, we'll take him!" www.theargus.co.uk/sport/argusgeneralsportsnews/5012888.Poyet_plays_down_Vine_link/

Brighton couldn't afford that sort of money. Neither can we!

If Vine goes then it's Bent (loan), Priskin (loan), Simpson (loan) and the youngsters...

We're determined to have all our strikers either on loan to us or from us. Or be German.
How much would we be paying him to bang goals in for Brighton? £10k a week?

Vine was another on my list to go and to be honest a 1 in 25 ratio is not good. Ok, he might have made other contributions but he is getting paid to score goals. Something he is not doing.
I wish I could find that thread when I wrote up a list of whom I wanted to see be gone. It was the one where I said Cerny was past it and I got abused for it.

I dn't know his ratio, but clearly he looks out of sorts. If a loan move helps him get match fitness and boosts his confidence then great, if not, then get him moved on. He was a tremendous player before his terrible injury, but let not sentiment get in the way of saving our club money and getting someone else in ( tongue in cheek ) who can do better.

Quite right, we have to treat our players with the same sentiment as they treat the fans, on and off the field.
