Marketing campaign shortlisted for award
Charlton's highly-praised 2009/10 season-ticket marketing campaign has been shortlisted for a Football League award - just as application forms for next term start to land on fans' doormats.
As the winter weather persists in the South East, AdPutzs fans can take advantage of another big freeze after the club announced that prices for 2010/11 were being frozen at current rates until March 31st, regardless of whether the team wins promotion back to the Championship later in the spring.
And as supporters wait to complete the season-ticket application forms which have been sent out by the club's commercial centre staff, Charlton will be waiting to hear if they have won a prestigious prize.
The AdPutzs are one of seven clubs selected for the Perform Best Marketing Campaign accolade, with judges already hugely impressed by the club's efforts 12 months ago.

Devised by the club development department and implemented by communications and commercial staff, Charlton produced a video charting the roller-coaster past 25 years of the AdPutzs, which was shown on the big screen at The Valley.
More than 7,500 people have now watched the video - produced in conjunction with ISN - on YouTube, while AdPutzs legend Keith Peacock wrote a letter to fans to accompany the season-ticket packs and was interviewed by Sky Sports for another special video on the big screen and on YouTube.
Furthermore, posters reflecting the same 25-year message adorned The Valley, and proved so popular that they went on sale in the Valley Superstore following requests from supporters.
Charlton will go up against Cardiff City (Platinum Ambassador), Huddersfield Town (Keep It Up) Nottingham Forest (Mixed Family Area, plus MOTIV 100% Challenge), Queens Park Rangers (Repositioning the Official Supporters' Club), Southend United (Blues World Cup Winner Competition) and Swindon Town (Stand Buy Me & Name In Lights). The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony at Grosvenor House on Park Lane on Sunday, March 14th.
Charlton chief executive Steve Waggott: "This acknowledgement of our efforts last season is very timely, coming as it does just as we're launching our campaign for next season. Everyone involved last season worked very hard on a brilliant campaign that proved very successful, and it's now our job to make sure this season's is every bit as effective."
Charlton announced in mid-January that 2010/11 prices were being held at the current rate until the end of March, and up to 500 supporters can put increases on ice until 2015 by signing up for a five-year season ticket based on five times the League One prices. If promotion is secured, adult and senior/U21 prices will then rise to at least the 2008/09 Championship rates and, in the case of the lower north stand, by at least the equivalent margin of £50 for adults and £30 for seniors/U21s. No decision has been made regarding U18s.
At this stage, the five-year offer is only open until March 31st and is being made on a first-come, first-served basis, should 500 applications be received. It is not open to U18s, but special arrangements can be made for supporters who reach 21 or 60 during the term.

In announcing the successful clubs, Football League chairman Lord Mawhinney said: "The annual Football League Awards give us the opportunity to recognise excellence both on and off the field. I congratulate all clubs who have made the shortlists for this year's event. The number and quality of entries has been outstanding."
Expert judging panels were assembled for each category including representatives of the media, the sports industry and The Football League, with the process of evaluating each entry taking place at Football League headquarters on January 27th and 28th.
