Daily Star Quashie TELLS QPR FANS: BRIATORE IS GOOD FOR THIS CLUB ABOVE: Nigel Quashie has told protesting QPR fans: Flavio Briatore has been good for this club 1st February 2010 By Scott ColemanYur Shout ( 0 ) QPR 0, Sc*n*horpe 1 NIGEL Quashie has told protesting hoops fans: Flavio Briatore has been good for this club. Hundreds stayed behind after watching Rangers lose at home to sc*n*horpe for the first time ever. Many were dressed as clowns as they believe the Italian co-owner’s hire-and-fire policy with managers has left the club a laughing stock. And a run of just one win in the last 13 games hasn’t improved their mood either, with Briatore and part-owner Bernie Ecclestone leaving well before full-time. But Quashie, who has just rejoined the club from West ham, reckoned the fans should take a look at another of his former clubs. he said: “Fans have their views and I know what they’re about, I know what they want. But the owners have kept the club afloat." “They have pumped money in and the club is in a financially good position. Just look at Portsmouth. Everyone thought the club was doing well but all of a sudden things turned upside down. so you have to give credit to the owners. They have balanced the books.” Rangers’ worries were of no concern to sc*n*horpe, who deserved to take all three points. Striker Gary hooper was his side’s outstanding performer. He set up winger Thompson for the winner and had a goal disallowed. No wonder the 22-year-old is being linked with a move to bigger clubs, with QPR understood to have been rebuffed. Thompson said: “For selfish reasons I want him to stay but you can’t stand in anybody’s way when there’s a chance to step up. www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/119959/Quashie-tells-QPR-fans-Briatore-is-good-for-this-club/?By Daily Express reporter NIGEL QUASHIE believes QPR’s angry fans need to take a look at one of his former clubs. Supporters massed behind the main stand after Garry Thompson’s 74th-minute goal had given Sc**thorpe their first victory at Loftus Road. Many were dressed as clowns because they feel co-owner Flavio Briatore has made the club a laughing stock by firing so many managers. Quashie, who has just rejoined the club, said: “The fans have their views but the club is stable and in a financially good position. “Look at Portsmouth. Everyone thought the club was doing well but all of a sudden things turned upside down. “The owners here are trying to get the club in a position where it doesn’t go under and you have to give them credit for that.” www.express.co.uk/posts/view/155436/Cooper-is-the-fall-guy

Dear Mr. Harford,
Sorry to bother you again but when you've read my letter could you please cross your name off the top, write Nigel and pass it Quashie, please.

So Quashie is not really wanted by West ham was on loan to a League 1 club, where potentially he could have ended the rest of his career, but has been picked up by us instead.. I bet he's loving Briatorie.
The fans loved Briatorie when he first came. Now the fans would just love for him to go. The main reason being that he has put the club into a position where we can only acquire players like Quashie.

Quite an outrage hee. Maybe he was signed as a PR Guy...Of course if I was earning 10 or 20K a week, I'd b grateful too.
Where did these Quashie interviews come from? And were they with permission of the club?
Will these views be on the Official Site? Also The Mirror - By Oliver Pickup Nigel Quashie blasted Queens Park Rangers’ fans following their protest outside Loftus Road against billionaire chairman Flavio Briatore. Angry fans dressed in clowns outfits to complain about the way Briatore has turned the club into a laughing stock. But the 31-year-old former Hoops’ trainee, who rejoined the club a fortnight ago, reckons they should wake up and be grateful that they have a wealthy benefactor. In the 29 months since Italian Briatore has been at the helm, QPR have seen no fewer than six permanent managers come and go. And following Sc*n*horpe’s first ever win at Loftus Road the club sit 12th in the Championship, seven points off the play-offs. “Do the owners get credit for keeping the club afloat?” asked ex-West Ham midfielder Quashie, with hundreds of fans’ stinging chants ringing in his ears. “In the current climate, balancing the books is not always easy. “I first left QPR at 19 years of age and the club were in a difficult position – they needed to sell and balance the books. But the owners have kept the club afloat, they have pumped money in to keep it on a level and keep it on a structure. “The club is stable, in a financially good position and obviously no one wants to see the supporters outside. “Just look at the likes of Portsmouth - everyone thought the club was doing well, they got into the Premier League and clubs want to push further and all of a sudden things can turn upside down. “I’ve seen it for myself at West Ham. So you have to give credit to the owners, the owners here have given that structure, balanced the books and people have to respect that. “They are trying to get the club in a position where it doesn’t go under and you have to give them credit for that.” Quashie, signed by Mick Harford, the third QPR manager this season, could do little about Garry Thompson’s 73rd minute winner that leaves the club with only seven points gained from their last 11 Championship games. Sc*n*horpe were combative and deserved their famous win - they have won 10 points from their last four league games and move up to 16th. The Iron’s fan roared: “We are staying up.” They may not be out of the woods yet, but if they can hang on to key players like Gary Hooper, who Harford was reportedly trying to sign last week, then matters should be in their hands. The bustling 22-year-old forward was man-of-the-match in an otherwise dour game. He outfoxed the sluggish QPR defence, latching on to Donal McDermott’s lofted through ball and laid on Thompson for his third goal of the season. It was too much for Brigtore, who immediately stood up and left his seat in the directors’ box, much to the fans’ annoyance. Boos rang out at full time but Harford, in his first home game in charge since he was caretaker manager in 2007, believed that they they were not directed towards the players. “I don’t think that the fans were booing the team, who played well,” said the 50-year-old. “I don’t know what they were booing for and I’m not sure where Flavio went after the goal. “If the fans want to voice their opinion then they are entitled to - they pay their money and they pay the players’ wages. It doesn’t affect me or the players. “The club needs stabilising and someone to take control at all levels and take this club back to where it belongs. My remit is to take first team affairs and that is what I do, though Flavio has not given me any targets. “I don’t know what Flavio wants from this club. We want to be successful, but success takes time. Hopefully Flavio will give me time. You can’t have it overnight. We are aiming to win as many games as possible.” www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/QPR-0-1-Sc*n*horpe-Nigel-Quashie-hits-out-at-Hoops-fans-over-Flavio-Briatore-treatment-The-Daily-Mirror-match-report-article307577.html

His fitness levels are questionable to say the least.
You only need to take a look at him for that particular penny to drop.
If a player isnt fit, you dont sign him.
Hardly rocket science, but unfortunately not something that is of concern to those at Queens Park Rangers that make these decisions.
The fitness of more than a few of our players is an absolute disgrace, have some pride FFS.

Sounds to me he's seeking to curry favour with those (currently) running QPR. And besides his presumably nice wage, he has no standing to speak...
Now if Ainsworth, hadn't left, and had said that (althoughMaybe if he'd said that he wouldn't have left), would have a little bit more standing. Or if Rowland. Or one of the other long-serving QPR Players (except they aren't any)
As I said before, I'm aware of nothing over the past decade that "shows" Quashie to be a deep-died QPR fan

Only been here a fortnight and already he is gobbing off to the fans. I prefer him to get his head down, get his fitness levels up and prove that he is good enough to wear the hoops. I saw him at Forest and he looked totally adrift.
He was unable to make any telling tackles and when he did have the ball his distribution was woeful. We all know you play the ball into space so that your man can run on to it but not THAT much space. Maybe he was doing his bit to try and raise the fitness levels of Taarabt and Simpson by playing them balls that they had to run 50 yards to get to and STILL end up in a 50-50 with an opponent. Forest's attackers were fast and efficient but they didn't need it. Even Dele Adebola beat Quashie for pace.
Holding up Portsmouth as an example is lame. Nigel is saying that at least our board are not as stupid as Portsmouth's....well whoopy doo. I feel sorry for Pompey fans that their have it marginally worse than us. Nigel: it's the inflated promises and arrogant communication that is the problem! The revolving door management policy and the player power ethos. The failure to trust the person appointed to do their job. The unqualified decisions in transfers and enforced team selections. What will be your opinion, Nigel, when you loose your place to some Serie C defensive midfielder we've signed as a favour to some business associate of our bloated, orange, fashion victim of a chairman.
I'd rather be in administration than accept the fake air of gratitude I am being told to offer Briatore. He told us he'd cleared the debts and saved the club....oh yes and I was jubilant but that does not look quite so peachy now does it? I am not so sure that debt will not bob up to the surface like a 3 week old corpse the minute Briatore finds a way to leave QPR without admitting he is a failure and a fraud just like he has in F1. Us fans have been treated with utter contempt and yet apparently our £20 a week does not warrant us an opinion but Forest badge kissing has-been Quashie's £20k a week does!?!? If only any one of us could get the the ear of the national press as easily as you have!
I'll give Quashie a chance to improve but cut out the mouthiness and get your head down. If it doesn't work then at least this deal is only to the end of the season and we can get Gavin back to play that position properly.
