Oh what?? Damn gutted, he was the man stats wise. I have many programmes and his was always the first page read. He added a touch of humour to some interesting stats. Derek healy wrote a column on the opposite page. RIP derek. I will always remember you with fondness

great page in the programme for many years, although he always used to cause me dismay when he said 'we haven't lost at home to so and so for the last 15 meetings'. Cast iron defeat in that game.
RIP.

Very much RIP. And as I recall too: Just dumped by the club a few years back. Personally I wasn't THAT interested in all the stats. But had remarkable knowledge re QPR. And very much a fixture along with the Michael Wale columns and Dennis Signy for a while and Ron Phillips

I have been searching for Ron Phiilips for some time, he'd be in his 70's by now for sure. Anyone know him, PM me.

Can't help you I'm afraid. Maybe one of that generation: Chris Gielger or Sheila Marson or one of the other backroom people from then?

Add Bill Tiddy cartoons in the late 60s - and especially for me, the checkered programmes

Bump a year. Just to remember Derek Buxton, who died a year ago today.
In honesty, his stats page was not my favourite part of the programme (that was probably Michael Wale) but his knowledge was amazing. And I didn't like the way he was just gone from QPR.

Tony Pullen, Derek Buxton and Michael Wale with Ron Phillips editorial. What a programme! Well worth subscribing to from way over here Nodge. The programmes these days would not be so bad if you took all the adverts out. As for Derek, gone but not forgotten. a new stat eh? 12 months since his passing. I'm sure he'd come up with something about it!!

My favourite part of the old programmes - besides the actual outlay, the checkered boxes - the way the team was set out on the back cover - and the 3:15 kick off was the Editorial and the Michael Wale Interview.
(And back when Dennis Signy was there in the early 1980s he has little paragraphs about what was going on at QPR, which was very informative)
But Buxton was a Programme Institution for many, many years - with all those stats - which in the pre internet era was very impressive)
