He is Webber's manager and Webber has refused to drop him as such.
Another embarassement for F1 top dogs.

That's true. I wonder if he will stay firm though. According to the ruling, if he doesn't change management Webber won't be allowed a licence to race next season.

Two open questions:
If Briatore were to be "guilty" should that invalidate him being QPR Chairman? (Forget the actual "Fit and Proper" rules)
And if Briatore is "Innocent" does that mean we should want him to continue being QPR Chairman? Or should we hope that the Mittals take over. (Not question of Briatore or bankruputcy. But between Briatore and Mittal or someone as equally as rich as Briatore?)

the whole thing is mad in fairness the same people who are saying if he is fit to run a club let in yer man at Man City the notts country and pomp deals are very unsafe and the fact that now the new man at B'ham wants to play some league games for city overseas. Then there is the issue of the fact that a quick google on Flavio Briatore will unearth some issues in the past. And if the league did not do that then you have to question how much research is done on people. Also it would seem that those who thought that FB would ease his control of the had a bit of a rude awakeing on saturday.
I am if honest still unsure how this is going to end or how the FL or FA can act on him but yet seemed to ignore his past to let him in, In the first place.

I cant remember a time in my 20+ years of supporting QPR, where the club has made it as hard for supporters to actually support their club than this truly bizarre situation now. And QPR won 4-0 on saturday, playing the best football they have in years by all accounts, but I wasnt that emotionally moved one way or the other if I'm being honest, if we had of played like that 4 or 5 years ago, I would have been over the moon. To be honest, its a joke, the stench around the club is just too much, I'm not that bothered in all honesty, its just easier to stay away, the bond is not what it once was, it doesnt feel like QPR anymore. Some people feel differently fair enough, I have my own opinion & I dont feel any closeness or affection for the club at present, which is a shame, but thats life I suppose, not sure if this feeling will change, I feel a chasm between me & the club, an emotional chasm filled by a dullness of feeling. Sorry for depressing anyone! but this is how I feel at the moment!

Sorry for depressing anyone! but this is how I feel at the moment! Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I feel very hopeful about the team. To be honest, every year since I can remember people have come on these messageboards and said about the same as you have. I think there is the least justification for that sort of sentiment this year -- but that is just my opinion. Sometimes I think that perhaps people change over time and just get less interested in footie, and then blame it on the circumstances at the time, whatever they might be. To me, Flav has been great for the club. We are out from under the weight of financial ruin, the ABC loan has gone away, and we are able to buy quality players. Flav is getting us where we want to be. The team is getting better. He isn't settling for boring, mediocre managers and is bringing is super-exciting players. We look like play-off material this year and if we win our game in hand, we will be in a play-off spot. People complain about the way he ditched Sousa, but everyone acknowledges that we were playing terrible football under him -- one striker at home, packing the defense, etc. Who wants to watch that sort of football? He said all along he wanted to see us playing exciting attacking footie and if the manager can't deliver that, then perhaps he should be managing elsewhere. That is no slight on Sousa, as he was a good manager and a true professional and had us getting reasonable results -- but if the Board wants exciting footie that will bring in the punters and lead to success, they have the right to demand that. Flav certainly isn't the most tactful or sympathetic character ever, but neither was Jim Gregory, who was a similar sort of flash Harry -- albeit from a different generation and level of riches. But, as I said, for me, we are going where we want to be going and doing it with some style on the field. That is a lot better than playing boring footie in division 3 while constantly scraping by on free transfers to avoid Administration.

I don't think anyone has any doubt that Dylan is always more optimistic/positive than me re Briatore: Even if we move beyond the Sousa axing, there were a lot of criticisms of him for his "involvement" with the team under his other managers. Does he have "the right" to do that? Sure. Is it good for the team just in terms of results? I'd say no. Ditto: The mangerial turnover certainly hurt our chances of getting a manager in the summer. Does Magilton seem to be working out? Yes. For now. If we start slumping though want to bet how long it will be before the "boo boys" in the Boardroom start getting busy. As for Jim Gregory. Well no question he was far from being a saint. I would say one difference is that Gregory knew a lot more re football. As for finances/ABC Loan, etc. It's not exactly out of the way. It's a new loan with the ground morgaged. Owned by Briatore and is it Bhatia? And our total debt/annual loss is way up. Does that mean Briatore hasn't spent a lot? Not at all. No one's questioned it. (Have questioned on how much has been wasted) I know there's a big high right now. Let's keep winning and actually get into the promotion spots...and keep there. And buy a forward.
