Bumpy...Now Wilks was a typical QPR player when you look beyond our stars...Not the greatest. Not a star. Not a regular. But QPR!

The only time I saw him play, I think, was at Highbury 68-69 when he scored in our 2-1 defeat. Other memory of that day was a 'peanut seller' outside the ground and a bunch of small kids who snatched bags of peanuts and ran off in different directions.

The only time I saw him play, I think, was at Highbury 68-69 when he scored in our 2-1 defeat. .... I was also at that game. As I recall it, Wilks came on as sub - and scored with his first kick of the game. (And Arsenal had a whole band playing on the field!) But losing 2-1 was a Moral victory for QPR (We had a LOT of moral victories in that humiliating 1968/69 season)

It took Wilks 12 seconds to score with his first kick after coming on as sub.

I think the memories are golden.
But In their heart of hearts I have my doubts that that many fans, and certainly the people at QPR, really care about QPR History - except for the golden moments of glory or near glory.
