We are poor at the minute, where’s all these goals that were going to come after Wells went, not seeing many signs yet? Huddersfield have a poor defence and we couldnt score one against it ?? Only one good thing about today, Luton and Wigan lost and Barnsley drew, that’s the only other three scores apart from ours I will be looking at for the next few weeks. This carries on a bit longer and they will be the only three under us. 4 straight losses since Cup game then , great

I make that 7 points from the last 10 games, from Hull, Charlton, Reading , Barnsley , Cardiff, Brentford, Leeds , Blackburn, Bristol C and Hudds. That is not great, we only took one point off Charlton, Hull,Reading, Barnsley and Hudds fixtures, all teams around us or below us, shocking. If we do that again now, we will be on 45 points with 5 games to go.
The owners thought we just needed to drift along until the end of the season, looking very much like the players are doing just that.... That Stoke at Home game is going to be very important.

No more Wells. No more goals?

No more Wells. No more goals? We were never accused or thought to be a one man team when Wells was with us so I do not think we should start that now. Certainly we had more options when he was with us but to start those sort of comments now is an insult to the other players. If I was to single us out as a one man team (which I am not) I would say the man was Eze. Now he has been worked out by other managers, bullied kicked and marked out of recent games and the results show the impact. I would even consider giving him a rest for a couple of games in the development squad to rebuild his confidence and put out some old experienced heads who will not be intimidated out of a game. This is Ezez' first full season and I do not think he has missed a game - a lot of weight to put on a young lads shoulders. Panic - I understand the creeping panic regarding our situation, but I think it is still a little early and could be destructive and self-perpetuating. If we are not careful, our home support will create a sombre worried aura that will quickly spread to the team. As a club, we are great at going on bad runs. Some supporters delight in defeat and fall silent in success…...bewildering. The Window - We were always going to lose Masterson or Leistner in the window and on reflection with hindsight we are better keeping and developing Masterson than fielding Leistner who would probably be off in the Summer anyway. Masterson is not the finished article, but he is developing, so, reasons to be cheerful. Scowen is a loss because he brought something different and he grafted. But he obviously had fallen out of love with QPR, QPR’s Management and especially some of the QPR ‘supporters’. Wells is the one that is hurting and not just because of his goals. I have not been a fan of Hugill, because as soon as he leans back, the upper tier run for cover. But we play in a different style when Hugill starts. When Wells was on the pitch, the whole operation was more mobile and other players responded better. In short, Hugill was always a good option to have, but not as our only option. Plans A & B - So, I think that Warburton needs to develop a new Plan B (or even Plan A). I think we are now very predictable and our weaknesses easier to exploit. Yesterday we did ok in the first half and probably shaded it. To concede two quick goals knocked the guts out of us and the heads dropped in a disappointing way. It is times like this that we lack a leader in the middle. Ball is probably the most vocal at present. But I think that perhaps we still need to revert at times to the old Wells set up. We could play Bright in that role or perhaps Clarke and use Shadipo on the wing. I think we need to accept that sometimes we need to take our only recognized striker off and try to outsmart the opposition rather than plugging away with the same result. we have stopped scoring goals, but not just because Wells is not on the pitch. Full Backs - Assuming we get to the 50 points mark, we have a lot of rebuilding in the Summer. To me, my biggest disappointment relates to our full backs. I was really pleased when we signed Kane and he started well. But was has happened to him? Is it just a lack of form or is it the coaching? Not a huge shock that Rangel’s fitness is an issue, but a big loss. At left back, Manning started well, Wallace joined and was injured - and had played very little recent football n Scotland. If we play Manning we gain going forward but not defending. If we play Wallace then we suffer with his woeful pace. Both goals yesterday involved our full backs. We extended Kakay’s contract and loaned out Hamalianen, not sure what is in the locker from youth. But I think we have suffered badly this season from poorly challenged wing play. That has put pressure on the central defenders and the keeper. We have also suffered an unusual number of individual errors. Keepers - Smithies saved us from relegation, our goalkeeping woes have cost us this season. I was disappointed that we did not bring Deing home in January – Doncaster were delighted that we didn’t though. I guess Kelly deserves his chance, but I am not convinced. But I home we have the answer between Kelly and Dieng and do not have to look elsewhere for next season. Centre Midfield - In the engine room we have Ball (who has been much better than I expected) Amos (who will presumably be off in the Summer) and an aging Cameron (who is also centre-half cover now). Not a lot, we need new / more. As for Eze, he is playing so much deeper now without Wells, why? Bloody Strikers - It seems we could only afford loanees up front and when successful they get recalled and sold. There was no suggestion that Hugill would be recalled and / or sold of course this window. If the FFP rules are relaxed next season, the price of striker will immediately inflate, so it is all the more important that we look for an alternative in-house attacking formation from what we already have. Keep plugging away with the one-dimensional set-up and we could cause ourselves unnecessary grief. We are now easy to scout and predictable. I hope he mixes it up for Swansea. But we are where we are, there is real talent in the squad, just need to find that spark and to not collapse once we concede. Keep the chins up - team and supporters!

QPR unleash a new formations. Sadly, the 5 man Defence and Midfield still let in the goals. 5-5-0
No strikers were available for QPR's last 10 games of the season.
