The R’s – who are now seven matches unbeaten – secured the win through goals from a Trialist and Aramide Oteh. Paul Hall fielded a strong side in the midlands, with Joe Lumley starting in goal, Angel Rangel playing at right-back, Yoann Barbet at centre-back and Oteh up front. It was Oteh who had the first shot of the game but his effort was comfortably saved by Coventry’s goalkeeper Tom Billson. Rangers broke the deadlock on 10 minutes when Trialist headed home from a corner and they held their lead going into half time. The Sky Blues hit the crossbar through Gervane Kastaneer early in the second period and Rangers made the most of their let off by doubling the lead on 53 minutes. Oteh found the net from inside the penalty area and it was almost three late on but Deshane Dalling’s curling strike whistled just beyond the far post.
