I don't think we'll go down, but this is the reality of FFP and having a bloated squad. I also think that a lot more teams are going to fall foul of FFP and end up having to take the measures we are taking. If we go down then so be it, though. Most of us QPR fans on here have been through it before. I remember the season it was us and Plymouth that came back up from League 1 with Andy Thomson (remember him) scoring for fun. That season was much happier for me than any of the 3 we spent in the Premier League. I do genuinely believe that this club is now being run properly and professionally, despite what other bridge jumping fans may think. That is going to stand us in good stead going forward, whatever division we find ourselves in. This, so very much this!! ^^^^ It is what it is, we are where we are and we know why. This is the culmination of the events from 2011 up to a couple of seasons ago. Incredible work has been done behind the scenes by Ferdinand & Hoos to steady the ship and turn the club around. It could well take a couple more seasons of this before we can really start challenging again but, when we do it'll be sustainable. Does anyone really want to go back to the days of splashing out millions on mercenaries, getting into the premier league and getting completely humiliated. Like nomar, I don't think we'll go down. 9 points is still a considerable gap and back to back defeats is hardly a run. And yes, 2003/04 is my favourite season as an Rs fan, especially after the disappointment ofdefeat in the play-off final the previous year. We have got used to having a big non-playing squad, so it feels very lean. We also have a number of out of contract players in the Summer so we can expect another Summer of change. In reality, we are probably only a striker short of a full squad now but with an abundance of 'Number '10s'. But we are not alone, Birmingham lost 5 players but took Hogan on loan - their fans were protesting yesterday. Hull lost Bowen and Groosicki (and others) and replaced them with loans. Hull were really smacked by Brentford yesterday, even with a crazy own goal by Brentford. Meanwhile Sheffield Wednesday continue to sign strikers and Derby are said to be paying Rooney £90k a week. It is all pretty mad. If we are looking for positives though, it is reported that Palace inquired about Eze and were told £20m. Burnley asked about Bright as part of the Nahki deal and we did not desert our business plan by selling off a youngster cheaply to secure a 30 -33 year old striker deal. Blackburn's valuation of Manning was equally rejected. We are not out of the woods, but we are able to determine the price for our talent rather than accept the highest current bidder. I had hoped that we would get a result yesterday, just to ease any fears out there. On another day we could have got something, although one shot on target tells the tale. I have said before that we are at a FFP crossroads, some teams are trying to adjust, others are still sticking 2 fingers up and going for it. That is what confuses some fans. If the offenders are not punished then the FFP concept could fall apart. QPR are being properly run now and working hard to comply, but for me the key question is still. 'What has FFP actually achieved, is there any positive as a consequence of the controls?'. See Warburton below West London Sport West London Sport Mark Warburton admitted his frustration after QPR’s latest defeat but reiterated that the club currently face financial restrictions. Rangers were beaten 1-0 by Bristol City at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium and have lost three of their past four league games. The sombre mood among fans was compounded by the sight of Nahki Wells coming on as a second-half substitute for his Robins debut. Wells scored 14 goals this season while on loan with Rangers, who wanted to sign him on a permanent basis but missed out when City agreed a deal to buy him from Burnley. Manager Warburton did not add to his squad ahead of Friday’s deadline despite Toni Leistner, Josh Scowen, Matt Smith and Jan Mlakar also leaving. “The best thing is to be honest with the fans,” said Warburton. QPR hoped to keep striker Wells “There’s no lack of ambition or desire to finish as high as we possibly can, but we can’t afford to go and spend £3m, £4m or £5m on players. “I hear people say ‘He’s a free transfer’ but they don’t understand that a free transfer comes with a massive agents’ fee and a great big basic wage. There’s never a free transfer. “I had phone calls saying “Only on £25k a week. Only on £30k a week’. Come on. It’s not our league. “What we’re doing is we’re working with our young players and there’s some really talented young boy here. “We’ve kept our young talents and the senior players are working really hard on and off the pitch in a mentoring capacity. “So I hope the genuine fans can see a lot of work being done.” There is a belief at QPR that their financial position will be stronger in the summer, partly because other Championship clubs are struggling to comply with Financial Fair Play rules and could face sanctions. The decision was therefore taken to bide their time and not to spend during last month’s transfer window. Warburton explained: “You can go out there and try to spend beyond your means, but businesses can’t run like that. You can’t get into massive debt and hope that you go up. “There are teams with huge debts and pushing FFP. You never want any teams punished, but you very much hope that if clubs like QPR are going to adhere so strictly to the guidelines that there will be a level playing field. “As long as we’re honest with our fans, answer their questions and be really clear, then I hope very much they will have an understanding of where we are.” Wells was certainly missed by Rangers, who put City under pressure in the second half as they searched in vain for an equaliser. “We had so many chances and so much of the ball and feel very frustrated right now,” Warburton admitted. www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/no-lack-of-ambition-defiant-warburton-makes-plea-to-qpr-fans-after-latest-defeat/amp?__twitter_impression=true&fbclid=IwAR1YynvZL1ccKmglpp1o_KTct1C39LX7dRmE3hMw86hSWWA3tuZztSG5gng

We are where we are. We have a few players that have potential and in that category I include Eze and Chair. They have potential. Nothing more. Agree with most of what you say MarshBowles. Eze has been bullied out of games for some time now and as a result has become totally ineffective. This has prevented top flight clubs coming in for him this window and it is a great shame, he does not belong in the rough n tumble of the Championship. I do hope he finds a way to overcome the treatment he gets at this level but it seems unlikely. If BOS has an off day like he did against Bristol then there is no one else with the ability or confidence to drive us forward and we end up, like Saturday, playing “sideways” and getting the bird from the crowd. It is what it is, we support the side or we don’t. After 60 years of support one tends to realise that there are more important things in life than football and some of the abuse dealt out on social media towards our players is appalling and these people need to get a life. Somebody actual tweeted to Amit Bhatia that he contracted the China Virus yesterday, beyond belief. As much I have just about had enough with our owners, just be civil please.

It all stemmed from changing that Cup team, that Leeds Result might have just been the push we needed. 9 points seems a lot but Wigan were 15 behind us 2 games ago and there’s still 16 matches to go and there run in the next few games is not to bad so we could be in trouble. Luton and Barnsley look very week though but we need to avoid that last relegation spot.

Either way, I think it's time to let it go. There are also 8 teams below us. I really don't think it's worth panicking because one of them is on a good run. When 6 of them go on a winning spree, then I'll start to be concerned but it's very unlikely IMHO.

Owners are currently doing right by us, not sure why you've just about had enough of them. Not sure Bhatia's done much wrong. I’ve had enough of them because of all the previous years of TF and Co pathetic running of the club and getting us into this state. Things have improved of late but I worry we have just become a bit of a plaything now, they didn’t get no joy with the stadium and that was there big incentive. If they moved on now , it would be the first time where I would really not be bothered. I agree re Bhatia hence my comment about fans wishing them to die yesterday, which is beyond belief.

Im slightly panicking because we have just said goodbye to our best goal scorer but your right it’s time to move on from the Cup. Not only did he score goals though, he had a presence where the oppositions team where putting two men on him and freeing up more space for our players, we missed him yesterday and failed to score. It only takes a couple more wins for Wigan and for Charlton and Stoke to hit a bit of form and we could get roped into that 22nd spot. I think we should still have enough about us to pick of these bottom teams off when we play them but to say we are safe, I don’t think we are anyway close yet. Huddersfield away will be a marker for us against one of the ones underneath us.

No need for panic.
We have a decent team, with some weaknesses and some exceptional players - and a good manager.
I think we're a cert for mid-table at the end of the season.
So no sudden 'play-off' euphoria when we win a game or two - but no relegation doom-and-gloom when we lose.
Already looking at next season - will Eze and BOS still be with us, if not, will we use the £30m (?) well - and will the new training centre be ready (or at least underway)?

The sooner that we reach safety, the sooner that contracts can be agreed for next season. New recruirts that we looked at but 'deferred' until the Summer are best secured on pre-contract terms if possible. Exercise the option for Manning and Bright. Decide on the other contracts who are expiring (Wallace, Hall, Cameron, Pugh, Oteh, Rangel, Kakay and, Hamalainen) Find replacements for the loanees (Amos, Hugill and Clarke). Decide what to do about the returning loans (Smyth, Leinster, Phillips & Dieng) So just a little admin to sort once we know for sure next year's status. Like I say, the sooner the better! As for the Training Ground.....quiet init?

We can also knock Kakay off the contract list and add him to the retuned loan list as he got an extension to 21. But Owens and Shadipo needs to be added to the contract list according to this site: www.transfermarkt.co.uk/queens-park-rangers/kader/verein/1039/saison_id/2019
