I often feel that when Dave McIntyre publishes these sort of stories that he is preparing the ground on behalf of the club.
Even if not the full picture, it is the message that he club wishes to send out - or to defuse other stories /manage expectations..
We have been prepped for no in-comings unless we sell first - or only modest signings.
The club is trying to message that Eze is worth £20m.
I really love watching him, but his set pieces are not consistent enough and his defensive covering is also suspect - so I think that £20m may be pushing it.
But if the deal is with Tottenham then options open up.......
Amos is improving quickly and I guess he could be part of the deal.
Cameron Carter-Vickers has been recalled from Stoke and is apparently on his way in and out at Spurs.
Spurs have said that Carter-Vickers is valued at £4m. I suspect that Amos would carry a similar value.
I think any Prem side acquiring Eze should want to loan him back to continue his development - so perhaps Carter-Vickers, Amos some cash and Eze back on loan - all undisclosed?
Carter-Vickers is a right sided central defender who can also play right back. He is a 'ball playing / passing defender'. He is rumoured to be joining Derby - isn't everyone?
Carter-Vickers sounds like he is a Warburton type of signing and would fit the profile more so than the McKenna price tag.
The Dundee United striker, Lawrence Shankland, also seems to fit the bill as well. He is unproven at Championship level but hopefully can be groomed for next season.
Hard to assess just how much Wells would cost in January when he is free in June, but at that point we will have competition for him.
It seems that Smith and Mlakar will be going home freeing up 2 loan spots.
McIntyre also seems to be raising the likely-hood of Manning departing.
So perhaps we will lose Manning and maybe Eze (plus Smith & Mlakar). Hugill and Leinster to also leave?
Perhaps, two of our loanees (Amos and Wells) will become QPR players.
Depending on the cash inflow above, perhaps McKenna / Carter Vicxkers at centre half, Shankland striker, purchased or loaned-in.
Wonder how fans would feel if we were to lose Eze but in return signed Amos, Carter-Vickers plus £5m and Eze loaned back until June?
