www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-defender-lined-up-for-loan-moveSeems he is to be loaned out to a League One Team in a couple of weeks time. I think that the general perception has been that he is closer to a first team position than he clearly is. One for the future has been the general message, so no first team starts to date. Hope that he excels on loan and develops into a class signing for QPR

If he's not going to be in the first team matchday squad, then a loan to a Division One club would be ideal.
Hopefully, he will then show that he should be in our team next season.

To be fair, only at U21 level for Ireland, not senior. He's not experienced in the sense that he's not had a run of serious competitive football yet. I might be wrong but I don't think he's actually played a game of professional league football yet - he had only ever been on the bench at Liverpool and other than that, it's been youth football. The massive difference is playing against grown men, in a competitive setting, in stadiums with proper crowds, on pitches ranging from crap to brilliant. It's really different. I always think of the needle and strength BOS has for us now - you get that from playing a good chunk of games at a place like Blackpool. I think the defensive woes you mention are a good part of why he hasn't had a chance. A Hall, Barbet or Leistner will take those problems on the chin, they've been round the block. Throw Masterson at his age into that, in a particularly crucial and exposed part of the pitch where we've had issues, and you risk breaking him. He's on a two year deal, he isn't going anywhere for now. Eze went to Wycombe. Shodipo went to the Gills. Chair went to Stevenage. Oteh is at Bradford. Let them cut their teeth on someone else's time, let them get kicked up in the air, get used to a competitive dressing room, the away trips and all that. It's good for players and it can make or break them.

Yeah send them out on loan to improve, bring them back when they are good, then sell them. Makes perfect sense to me.

I think he'll do well for us in the future. I thought he did ok playing at centre back but can see the purpose of loaning him out, right now we need experience to stop the leaky defence.

Last couple of times he played, he looked composed and capable.
His ball skills with both feet seem decent for a CB and he is brave in the air.
Hopefully time with the Swindon mob will iron out the unforced errors he made at times.
This also suggests confidence in our current cadre of CBs, both depth and skill.
We are getting there hopefully, regardless of result tomorrow.
