They're positively acid! And no, I don't believe Hugill said that, at least not in the context he's claiming! Same. If he said it, I can imagine him saying it in a jokey way to players he used to play with. Or to take the mick. Or a bit of gallows humour. Not like they would've got any benefit out of it. Regardless, players say all sorts to eachother on the pitch, sure most of it far, far worse than that. Difference being that (long as it isn't horrendous), players normally abide by the unwritten rule of keeping it to themselves, between human beings doing a job. Fact Pearson even brings it up is pretty snide, really. Sums them and him up.
