This is an attacking team for an away game Two strikers plus Chair and Eze Perhaps playing away from home suits us more this season

Still only a goal down - all three subs on - I wonder how the Rs are set up now with Leistner injured? Pugh hasn’t made any difference in the previous games he has come on as a sub - let’s hope he gets a goal today!

Only got audio but sojnds like he ended up contributing to Leeds' second - cut the ball out but rolls to a Leeds player, unlucky apparently.

Quite surprised our defence kept them to just 2.

Quite surprised our defence kept them to just 2. Think it was more a matter of poor Leeds finishing, really should have been 4 or 5. We gifted them the second one which we seem to do now on a weekly basis.

Featured game on Quest - so i watched it. Only one QPR attack shown though - the Hugill wide header. It could have been far worse for QPR as Leeds missed several good chances. Just a few observations.... Wallace was selected as part of a back 3, but we seemed to play with a back 5 for most of the highlights. Even with a back 5, when the ball was played across our goal mouth, attackers were in oceans of space. The first goal being case in point. The second goal was a gift from Pugh - pushing the ball through to Harrison. Warburton seems to like to introducing Pugh - usually for Chair - but I am yet to see what he contributes. I think that Pugh may turn out to be the poorest Summer acquisition and a potential target for the fans - it was a schoolboy error - but he did win the ball for Kane to cross to Hugill for our one positive clip. Leinster's injury meant that we ended up with 2 full backs in the centre (Rangel, Hall & Wallace). Thought that Warburton went to Leeds and paid them a great deal of respect - perhaps that is where we are in our evolution. But the outcome was that we were outclassed. On the Quest analysis afterwards, the conclusion was that we look great going forward, but we cannot continue to concede 2 goals a game due to our our dodgy defence and that we will have to do something about it in January. So no surprises there really.

That sounds about right.
Pugh is an odd one in that he's one of the more distinguished players we've got on paper. When we've got such a young set of attacking midfielders, he seemed like a safe pair of hands both on and off the pitch. Someone who has been there and done it for them to learn from, but also versatile enough to slot in across that attacking three. But I agree, I can't really recall a game so far that he's made a big positive impact to. Hopefully that will come, he's got the chops for it and doesn't seem like a player winding down, despite his relative age.
The respect thing has come up a fair bit and agree it was a shame to see us seem so overawed by it all. I know most of us didn't expect us to get much at Elland Road, but it actually felt a bit like the players felt the same way. Probably too simplistic but when our defence is pretty poor but we are strong and creative going forward, you'd want us to charge out at teams early doors - something we havn't really seen since Luton, really.
As with all of this again though, we seem to at least be hitting a pattern of beating the worse teams, competitive in the middle and losing to the better ones. Which is still better than most of us predicted I guess.
