Fantastic England performance tonight. Overshadowed by disgraceful monkey chanting from the stands. UEFA protocol has been in place for 10 years apparently. What a load of bollox, UEFA fine players more for wearing betting sponsors logos than they do countries for racist chanting.
Feel so sorry for Tyrone Mings (outstanding tonight), biggest day of his career tonight and has to put up with such abuse.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour in Bulgaria and yet another sickening example of racist chanting from Eastern Europe. This needs to be dealt with swiftly and firmly but I have no expectation that it will. A couple of years ago FIFA fined the Russian Football Union a paltry £22,000 for racist chants by their fans in a friendly against France, this was eclipsed by UEFA fining Besiktas £30,000 when a cat stole onto the pitch during a Champions League match against Bayern Munich a few months later. That speaks volumes for the football authorities priorities.
Gareth Southgate and his England team took the right action and will hopefully have forced UEFA to finally face up to the problem and hit the offenders with realistic, appropriate and effective sanctions. England acted within UEFA’s three-step protocol, UEFA and FIFA now have to stop launching endless campaigns to eliminate racism, discrimination and intolerance from football and actually get serious about backing them up.

A number of unsubstantiated allegations of racism from a Yeovil fan have surfaced since the match was stopped midway through the second half with the Glovers leading 1-0 The stoppage came after Rhys Murphy had put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot amid reports that a water bottle was thrown at Haringey goalkeeper Valery Pajetat from the Yeovil end. After a lengthy delay, the game was officially abandoned . In a tweet, a spokesman for Haringey Borough claims that racial abuse was shouted at the game. He said: "Sorry for the late update but wanted to make sure we gave correct information. "Game has been abandoned following racial abuse. Horrendous afternoon. "It must be said that 99.9 per cent of Yeovil fans are also disgusted by what’s happened as much as we are. "One club, one community."

Oh and here www.bbc.com/sport/football/49969743Brighton fans under investigation after racist incidents Brighton fans reported both incidents of alleged racism at the Amex Stadium Brighton fans reported both incidents of alleged racism at the Amex Stadium Three Brighton fans are under investigation by Sussex Police following two separate incidents of racism at the club's Amex Stadium. The first incident involved two fans and took place at an Under-23 fixture against Tottenham on 27 September. The second occurred during Saturday's win over Spurs, with one person arrested by police at the stadium. Brighton chief executive Paul Barber condemned the behaviour and thanked fans who reported the incidents. "It is very encouraging that in both incidents our stewards were alerted to this totally unacceptable behaviour by other Albion fans and, working with Sussex Police, our staff were able to take swift action, which hopefully will increase the chances of a conviction," Barber said. "It's very hard to comprehend why some individuals think it's acceptable to behave in this way, but we are very clear that neither Brighton & Hove Albion, nor the wider football community, will tolerate racism or discrimination at any time, in any form. "We would urge any fans confronted with similar discriminatory behaviour to report it immediately, either directly to a steward or via our anonymous hotline, and we will take strong action." Brighton said both incidents remain open investigations with Sussex Police. In September, BBC Sport reported incidents of hate crime at football matches in England and Wales rose by 47% last season, according to Home Office figures.Manchester City's Raheem Sterling and Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were among Premier League players targeted.

What mealy-mouthed language in that local reporting, using the word "unsubstantiated". That implies that the claims have no merit and that they're made up. By all means call them "allegations" if you need to toe a line as there may be legal repercussions. But so much of this racist crap gets worse because fans and local media lock down into biased damage control rather than showing a bit of empathy and self-reflection. Social media is already awash with Yeovil fans arguing the toss trying to dig up evidence of why Haringey shouldn't be believed rather than taking these accusations seriously.

Every football fan ,and person, has to look at themselves. Racism has been going on in this country for yonks. We all turn a blind eye at a comment that we feel may or may not be rascist . If you ever feel unsure that way, then it is wrong . When younger I would now perceive myself as being rascist back then . It’s inherent, passed down , but not at birth, but at what you think your parents and peers would want to hear from you . As you grow, and wisdom and the ability to make your own choices comes to you, then you realise that it is not the way you want to be . We are diluted enough to know that it is so wrong, but not diluted enough to know that it has always been wrong .
