thought he was quite good when I saw him play on BT Sport made quite a few good saves ,comfortable with the ball at his feet ,good with crosses ,good ball distribution ,I think he deserves a chance at least imo 😀

Barbet is a liability, and will only get worse.

Anyone there? How did Kelly do?

Think QPR are stronger this season. Anyone there? How did Kelly do? Not impressed, looked nervous and did not command the area at all - such a shame that our excellent attacking approach is being somewhat undermined by our fragile defence. Do hope we can sort it out in the next few months and avoid last years dogfight

4-1 now (Hugill) but that's not important, Barbet's shite! "Sir, congratulations, you've just won the lottery!" "Bet there's loads of forms to fill in. And I'll have to deal with an accountant. What a ball ache".

Just on the way back.
I don't know if it's a confidence thing or rhythm or adjusting to the system but we look so much more dangerous when attacking once we've got a goal. Passes are quicker and more ambitious, movement is a little more positive. A lot of the first half was neat but little bite at either end - Blackburn clearly looking to turn Leistner and get Graham in behind and us doing a lot of probing, looking for gaps.
Really enjoyed all our goals for different reasons. Wells smashed it in like a proper striker - but would never have got it had Bright not done such good work in challenging his man and keeping the ball from going out.
Eze's goal was just pure Eze, Blackburn didn't have a clue of how to deal with him.
Osayi-Samuel, who I like a lot but has ropey decision making/shooting even scored a peach. Fed by Scowen, held off his man, turned and banged it in the corner. Hugill scored a proper striker's goal, rising and guiding the header right in the corner.
Quick word on Mlakar too who I'm still intrigued by. He absolutely beasted past the full back and was only stopped by being grabbed by the neck and thrown down.
Also, not a huge deal but absolute sod's law that we get the only ref I've ever seen here enforce the nearest touchline rule for subs when we're trying to run down the clock. Polar opposite of the Cardiff game.
Downside were the goals conceded, both were poor. I'm biased but I don't think that pen was as clear cut as Barbet's others. His previous one was brain dead. This one looked clumsy, but I also think he got the ball. Doesn't matter much now but it looked that way at the time, and looking at the replay, he's alongside him, slides in, his back leg wins the ball and then takes the player down with him. You hear the crowd roar cos it looks a shot-stopping tackle. Maybe it's still a foul if you take both?
Other side of that of course is if you slide in at that angle, in the box, it gives the ref a decision to make.
Regardless, pen was poor and just seemed to wrong foot Kelly. Knocked only a couple foot to the side of him. Hard again to report much on Kelly, didn't have much to do. Couple of crosses where you felt like he should have come n claimed it. Couple of miss-kicks that weren't punished.
Second goal just looked soft. Free ball in from the wing, free shot in the box, too easy. Not horrendous but we do have a soft underbelly. We rode it out though and fundamentally deserved the three points.
Anyway. 9th, three points off the top, four goals at home against an alright side with four different scorers. And Brentford lost. Not to be sniffed at!

I thought Barbet only made one mistake in the game & from the Upper Loft (admittedly not the best place to judge the tackle), it looked a great challenge. He is streets ahead of the players he replaced! Most moans about him come from people that aren't at the game rather than us that are weatching him.
This is very unfair to Kelly, but he is yet to make a save in The Championship. He did start the move for our first goal though! This was the first time I've seen him, but he didn't exude confidence IMO. I still feel that our 'keepers fall a little short of the quality required for a top Championship team.
Overall, this wasn't our best performance, but we won comfortably. Once again, I left Loftus Road this seasson very happy with what I'd seen!

Well I echo all that Bow wrote above. Saved me a job there! Blackburn were chirping in the ref's ear throughout and seemed to be complaining about Bright most of the time - for what I know not! Bright was then subbed straight after scoring (he was about to go off when he scored). Our goal celebrations seemed to last forever today and when Bright finished celebrating his goal he finally walked from the corner flag to the bench waving and saying goodbye to everyone he had met today. Again Blackburn were pointing and complaining. So when Chair was subbed, the ref was straight on it and told him to exit at the half way line on Ellerslie Road Stand. We then had the crazy situation as Chair then walked round the side of the pitch shaking hands with fans and signing autographs as the game played on. Several minutes later he made it back to the bench. Like Bow said - first time I have seen it enforced and it was totally surreal! I thought Eze was superb today. He is sooo good to watch. I also thought Manning had a good game again. Blackburn were nothing special although Armstrong and Dack were a handful. But they really stood off us after initially trying to pressurize us the way WBA did last week. But they had no idea what to do with Eze and gave him far too much space to work in. As good as he is, he would not get that sort of space in the Prem. But a very timely victory ahead of the break.

Had he stood up for the penalty rather than auditioning for Strictly, he may have stopped it, but Lumley seems hopeless at penalties as well. We were fortunate to have Smithies penalty performances. Kelly is shorter than Lumley, so does not have the same penalty area command of Lumley, but hard to judge who is the better bet. I hope it is Lumley just because he is home grown, but i think it may end up being Dieng post January. Barbet is an enigma. Good distribution, decent footballer who seems jinxed since he joined us. Warburton made the point after the game that he is often the last line of defence, so has to make the last ditch decisions. In the second half, with Graham off, Blackburn tried to go over the top of Leistner and Barbet with Armstrong running in behind strongly. But yeah, I hope that he comes through this spell.

No complaints from me 👍 beat a decent team and got ourselves 3 points off top , with three winnable games to follow the break. Never thought we would be in this position after 10 games, big 👏 for the team and Warburton.
