Terrific result!
Results today show exactly why it’s a mugs game trying to predict the Championship.
Apparently Eze’s goal is Taarabt-esque!

Fantastic start to the season, we already have 3 points more than what we had after four games last season, well done Rangers ....👍😀

This team looks better with Warburton and some good buys and a loan striker from Hammers who scored first goal.

just back from the game, it really was a fantastic win and on balance of play I think we deserved it. However, Stoke were poor and we made a lot of silly mistakes. There is a lot to come from this team as they learn how to play to our style and with each other.
Live it up gents we have a long season ahead of us.

My "match report" that I've just E mailed to Roller.
I've just eaten my tea & I'm sat down with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. New world of course!
Where do i start? I don't think we need revisit the Bowls Club, but we did have to purchase Football Matchday Membership for the season at the extortionate rate of £1.00. Each that is!
I think I will start with the negatives. All three that I can recall!
1) I felt we went flat after the substitutions & the one position you can't play Eze is as a lone striker. Thoiugh, I do understand replacing Hugill with Leistner. Stoke waere engergised by theirs.
2) Joe Lumley making a horrendous decision to come for a cross near the end of the match. Missing the cross could (and possibly should) have resulted in an equaliser.
3) Hearing somebiody just behind me stating that Eze is our worst player as he is lazy & useless. He did celebrate his goal though! He also continually moaned about Manning's positioning, which I felt was spot on!
Now to the good stuff!
We not only won, we deserved to win. We were by far the better footballing team & had a few moves of quality. The period between half time & the substitutions was wonderful to watch. The ball was played on the ground whenever possible & at that time Eze was untouchable. Bright was also bright! His game improved/changed after a hesitant start & his work for the opening goal was good.
Lumley had very little to bother him, but his confidence with his kicking has increased greatly. I was very impressed with this part of his game. Defensively, I thought we were improved without looking outstanding, but Hall & Manning were close to that description.Rangel was his usual mixture of good & bad moments, while I didn't notice Barbet that much. I take that as a good sign.
i did expect more from Amos than I saw today, but he wasn't found wanting & I probably expected too much too early! Cameron made one excellant needed foul that resulted in his caution, but he guarded our defence well. I also really liked his reaction in front of us at the end of the game. Don't celebrate against your old clubs? Geoffrey certainly did!
Josh Scowen? His running & workrate were amazing, but his miss was awful! That cost me my prediction of leading 2-0 at the interval! I wasn't expecting him to be in the side, but I'm reaaly pleased I got that wrong!
My man of the match was Jordan Hugill. He can play with his back to the goal & hold up the ball. He competes with defenders & wins his fair share of competitive headers. He niggles & makes runs off the ball. He reminded me of Helgusson & that is praise!
To summarise. We played some football, we worked hard (every player) & played as a team. Am I pleased I was there? You bet I am!

A really great feeling to wake up after game one with 3 points on the board. The reports during and since all say we should have won - probably by more than one goal if that Scowen header had been on target. But even then it could have been very different, although we were easily the better team for 60 -70 minutes, I did think that it was a penalty when Pugh raised both hands above his head, stopping the ball, most would have given that I feel. Then Lumley going walkabout and the ball just going the right side of the post. We could have even lost. The mood today would have been so different this morning about how we squandered such a great start to the campaign, same old Rangers etc. But just shows what small margins govern our emotions! I also watched the Quest show last night, so many close games and marginal decisions. Forest so fast out of the traps until their new keeper had the worst of starts. Sheffield Wednesday have their keeper dismissed but go on to win 3-1 when they were under the cosh at 2-1. But through all that, I believe that it is performance and confidence that counts most at this stage and we more than ticked both boxes. So well pleased!
