Its a bizarre appointment, but in all fairness what other manager would take it on? They have been through most of the top managers in Europe, they have a 2 window transfer ban, they have sold their best player and their owner is nowhere to be seen and if rumours are true is on the verge of pulling out.....couldn't be happier for them!

I think Lampard appointment has lessened the possibility of a John Terry appointment. If he's a success; after him they'll go for a top European Manager. If Lampard's a faiure; doubt they would want to take that risk twice

I wonder if it will now be 'Frank Lampard's Chelsea'? Perhaps the Rams will have to be known as 'No longer Frank Lampard'd Derby' for one season.

The trend is for younger ex players as managers at these big clubs now.
I think he'll do ok there.

Such a PR move. Expectations never been lower, get a manager in who buys the club maximum time from the fanbase. Does alright, he's done it with "nothing" (lol), does poorly, not his fault.
Will probably go ok. Really hope it doesn't.

Love affair ends today Personally felt at the time, he needed another 2-3 years to cut his teeth longer in Championship etc.

Abramovich always wants a "winning" manager" For him Lampard was not going to bring the team high enough in table.

Mourinho was sacked because he lost the confidence of the players.

John Terry was Busy consoling his wife when the news broke. So he got them into the 5th round of the FA Cup, Doing ok in the League and the Playboy said nope. I wonder when Karma will finally catch up with the Russian? He Goes and Chelski will go too. They owe him somewhere in the region of &50 million in zero percent personal loans allegedly.
