I'm told that tomorrow is one for us older supporters - Mike Ferguson.
He is way up there on my list of favourite players. And he could play!
Mike has been regarded as the man who put the original Accrington Stanley out of business, but all he did was refuse to join a club he didn't want to.
I look forward to seeing you again Mike!

www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/ferguson-set-for-induction/FORMER QPR forward Mike Ferguson will be inducted into The Forever R's Club at the Hoops' home fixture against Hull City this weekend. Rangers play host to the Tigers in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday, and the match will see Ferguson officially join our popular ex-players' association. Ferguson will be introduced to the Loftus Road crowd and conduct a Q&A at half-time. The talented attacker joined QPR from Aston Villa in 1969 and spent four years at the club, including a period as captain during the 1971/72 campaign. After starting his career with Plymouth, he enjoyed spells with Accrington Stanley and Blackburn before moving to Villa Park. His first team debut for the R’s arrived on 22nd November 1969 at home to Leicester City, a game which finished 1-1. Ferguson went on to make 77 appearances, scoring three goals, before leaving for Cambridge United in 1973.

I can't say that I recall him Terry, what sort of player was he?
Jago clearly rated him as he says in his autobiography that he brought Ferguson (and Ian Morgan) back into the team when he was appointed as caretaker manager "to add some penetration and, more importantly, some positivity."

Between the sale of Marsh & the purchase of Bowles, Mike Ferguson wore the number ten shirt. This is how he should be regarded. One of Rangers magical ten's! IMO he had far more skill than either Stainrod or Byrne. Not too much pace, but he glided past his oppomemts with ease. For 75. I think you are thinking of Mike Flanagan when you mentioned Derek Hales!

Just passing by Remember Mike well - under rated by many a skilful goal scorer and creator; Glad he is still around and hope no one mentions Derek Hales to ruin his afternoon - a few on here will understand that.
While I'm here how many "people" are still calling for the infamous "taxi" for McClaren like the below.
Quote "McClown has to go ASAP, he is a liability , a useless old fart with zero ideas. I hope he reads this stuff and packs his bags. Oh and i hope he never burdens another team after us.

Terry, out of the 77apps Mike only played in the ten shirt 14 times, majority were in the eleven shirt with the odd game at seven.

Terry, out of the 77apps Mike only played in the ten shirt 14 times, majority were in the eleven shirt with the odd game at seven. That was because Rodney was wearing the number ten! Wherever he played he was mainly played as a winger, but he had the ability to play the "ten role". How did we finish so low in the league table in '69/70 when we had the ability of Marsh, Ferguson, Bridges, Morgan, Venables in the side & Francis progressing as a player? Admittedly we were rather weak at the back, especially after we signed that useless lump of s*** from Wednesday!

Yeah it was a strange season 69/70. Defence wise we were weak and as you say "especially after we signed that useless lump of s*** from Wednesday"
