In my last post I mentioned that something pretty surreal happened to me at the Bolton game, so here it is.
I saw my first QPR match in 1959 aged 11 with my then schoolmate John Waite and we went to every home match and some away until he moved away around 1962 and never saw each other again. I only get back to the UK and of course the Rs a couple of times a year and call it fate, coincidence, pure chance but at the Bolton match I ended up literally sitting next to him in the South Africa road stand. We recognised each other even after 53 years and what with the equally surreal match it made for a very memorable day.
I probably won't be back at Rangers until Feb / Mar 2016 but I will be asking the nice lady in the box office for the same seat again, John being a long term season ticket holder.
PS perhaps I should submit this for inclusion into the programme, anyone know who to contact?

I just love stories like this. I used to go in the late 60's with a lad called Philip Greasley and lost contact with him 30 years ago. I'd love the same thing to happen.

I'm trying to locate a Hoops fan that used to be on the old official MB under the user name "QPRMal". Anyone knowing this guy can you answer here or PM me please. He was a good sort.

Matt Webb (mattw@qpr.co.uk) is the man you need to contact at the club to get this into the programme. He is very accommodating and I think will be pleased to hear about this.

What a great story!
And we ended up with three points. This must have been due to celebrating your re-union!

Incredible story, even in a small stadium the chances of sitting in those two seats virtually side by side are highly remote. I bet you had a lot of catching up to do?

Maybe Bushman was at that game? (His first was Sept 1959) qprreport.proboards.com/thread/39919/september-1959-first-match-loftusMy first match at Loftus Rd 5th September 1959. My father took me for a pre-birthday treat to see us play Newport County. I was almost four and the only thing I can remember from that day is sitting on my father's shoulders at the back of the old Ellersie Rd school end terrace. This is the programme my father bought 55 years ago.
