Well this is news to me, had no idea we've recently renamed the School End to the 'BT School End'..... www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/qpr-smarkets-loftus-road-airasia-nike-bt-sport-2593755.aspxClub announces new commercial deals ... QPR confirm commercial partnerships ahead of 2015/16 season Smarkets on board as club’s Global Betting Partner Plethora of other new deals announced QPR is pleased to confirm a number of new commercial partnerships ahead of the new 2015/16 season. As well as our existing lead partnerships with AirAsia, Nike and BT Sport, the club is delighted to introduce Smarkets as our Global Betting Partner. Part of this agreement will include the integration of Smarkets into the re-naming of the Ellerslie Road Stand, similar to the recent re-naming of the BT School End.QPR's Commercial Director, Euan Inglis, told http://www.qpr.co.uk: “On behalf of the club, we are delighted at the support a number of our existing partners are continuing to offer to the club, as well as some new partners who have come on board for the 2015/16 season. “The club continues to attract significant commercial interest, which is demonstrated by the increased portfolio of partners compared to when we were last in the Championship.” The club has also entered into new agreements with SkyEx (Transportation Partner), IFX (Foreign Exchange Partner), Keymail (Domestic Logistics Partner), Hotel Planner (Preferred Travel Partner) and Acer (Academy Partner), whilst Carlsberg have also renewed another multiple-year deal to continue as the club's official beer partner.

They can call it what they like but it will always be the School End to most of us.

We had it before with the Ellersie, so nothing new, we started selling our soul to the devil years ago, so another little piece might as well go.
As i have said before i feel like I am losing my connection with the game. I know to them at the top of the club I am just a customer like all of us.
When all I want to feel like is a supporter. We get commercialism rammed down our throats everyday, its relentless, I just wish Football could be a true escape from the real world, a place I turn up to and can watch my team without being told who I should bet with, or who's beer I should drink, Or what broadband and Telly subscriber I should use, and so on. Its a turn off, just let us watch our team for fecks sake.
We are not robots that will follow your every command, we are football supporters. The more you tell me what I should be buying, the less fecking chance you have of me buying anything at all.

Without sponsors and advertising a club can nolonger exist at any level. As supporters all we can do is to ignore as much of the annoying commercial aspects as possible and enjoy the game.
If they call the stand the BT School End or anything else I do not worry as I will never know it as anything other than the school end - and I went to the school that used to be behind the old School End terrace and gave it its name - long before the Stand was even built.
Does anyone have any old photos of the original Ellerslie Primary and Junior Schools?
Can't add much, very well said all round. The depressing thing to me is essentially it's very hard to do much about as it doesn't fundamentally affect the match-day experience on it's own so it's hard to really motivate people to be fussed about incidents like this (and indeed, some people probably don't mind, or may even think it's a good thing). It's not the renaming in and off itself - it's the fact that things like this have been creeping into the game for years, chipping away, to the extent that it just becomes 'normal'. But it's things like this that just accumulate and accumulate in terms of alienating me more and more from modern football. Like steptoesson says, it'll always be the School End to me but it's still gross and a crass thing to be doing to our stadium. BT already mess about with match day schedules, I have to see their adverts daily, whether it's on the telly, or posters on the tube and when I'm walking about, or from the sidebars of seemingly every other webpage I go onto - why do they have to vandalise the name of one of our stands too? Total lack of class.

Bang on the money there 57. Sad fact of modern life I suppose, like you say, just enjoy the match and ignore all the other nonsense. On the photos ask Bushman he might be able to help. My first memories of going to Rangers are when the school end was just an open terrace. Not from the Bush myself, I was brought up just down the road in the suburbs. Born in Isleworth. Live not far from the Rangers though, town called Hanworth(or mallice

I support the England Cricket team and you the Australian Cricket team(or the three lions or for you the baggy greens). Talking of which, looking forward to Trent Bridge tomorrow. We win, we take the Ashes(very nice) you win, All on the (Kia Oval for a rip roarer of a decider. Your dream is to come over here to see the Rangers one day. Mine is to go to Oz to see the Ashes, The Waca is a must visit along with the Sydney Cricket Ground. Watching the cricket on the telly over here when we play Australia in Australia, I have always liked the look of the Waca and The Sydney Cricket more than the other grounds. They still have kept a feeling of being in a Cricket ground. Here is hoping we both have them dreams come true

Total lack of class. When did Linekar join them, Brought a paper today and there he was promoting BT Sport. Went a bit under the radar that one. There the new Home of Football apparently, They rather arrogantly reckon. So we can all sleep soundly in our beds, safe in the knowledge BT are the new custodians of the beautiful game. Don't it give you a nice warm fuzzy feeling, that there are execs at BT who will get millions from their new found love of football. Whilst us fans get milked for every penny they can squeeze out of us. Its about time some of these millions are given to the fans, by way of ticket price cuts. The Germans look after the fans, why not here as well. The powers that be, that run football in this country, have no shame about their greed.

Smarkets were named as our Global Betting Partners earlier this week Ferdinand and Mackie on hand to welcome Smarkets on board Partnership kicks off with official photo-call at Harlington QPR and Smarkets have kicked off their new partnership with an official photo-call at Harlington. Les Ferdinand and Jamie Mackie were both in attendance, along with Jason Trost (Smarkets CEO) and Alex Wheldon (Smarkets CMO), to officially announce the betting exchange company as our Global Betting Partner. Smarkets was founded in 2008 by Trost, with the company offering its customers a betting exchange that offers a secure and transparent platform for trading on sporting, political and current affairs events. Smarkets’ platform combines cutting-edge technology with a focus on transparency and treating the customer fairly. As part of the agreement, Smarkets branding will feature on the back of the First Team playing shirts and shorts, as well as on the primary property position on the First Team training wear. As confirmed earlier this week, the Ellerslie Road stand will also be renamed to incorporate the Smarkets brand name. QPR CEO, Lee Hoos, told http://www.qpr.co.uk: “On behalf of the club, we are delighted to welcome Smarkets into the QPR family. “We have a number of new partners at the club for the 2015/16 season, and the introduction of Smarkets as one of our lead partners is one that we are very excited about. “Discussions around the agreement are very much with a view to implementing a strategy that is mid-to-long term, and not just for the 15/16 season, which is a very refreshing start indeed.” Trost added: “We were searching for a partner that would represent our ethos at Smarkets, and for us, QPR was a natural choice. The fans are incredible, and the organisation itself is truly fan centric. “We’re excited for the upcoming season, and our many initiatives we will be undertaking.” Read more at www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/qpr-smarkets-lee-hoos-global-betting-partner-2601697.aspx#0L9JpA6twvbvZhKS.99

But as I've put in a previous thread, their odds are really poor.
Clint the other day scoring the first goal was paid out at 25-1. Other bookies were offering 40's.
I had the 4-2 result the other night, I'd checked our bookmaker and it was 40-1, on Skybet it was 50-1.
