I see that the club have gone for a rather small initial allocation of tickets for the match at The Valley.
No doubt this will be increased but first match of the season, a London derby & £26 a ticket, I do think that 1500 might not be enough!
More important, will I be able to get one?
If so, pre match pub advice would be very welcome.

Terry, Pub by Charlton station is a nightmare to get served! Try the Rose of Denmark or the Pickwick on the Woolwich Road.

I have been there 5-6 times in last decade and generally park about 20 mins from the ground . Sadly im on hols this one, my neighbours a Charlton fan and would have been great to go. If you like I will ask him best / nearest place to park for you.

Probably going to drink central-ish before getting the train and going straight to the ground rather than drinking closer to the ground, I reckon. Maybe London Bridge?
Also, isn't the Valley one of the grounds you can travel along the Thames to from West London? I know Brentford fans have done that in the past and chartered a boat.

Bloody hell, so you'd be looking at around £100 total for an away day within London (boat ticket, drinks, food, ticket etc.). Pass.

As it is a novelty, I would say 50 pounds for the boat ticket is worth paying as a one off.

Possible team:
Green Perch Onuoha Hill Knochesky Phillips Luongo Faurlin Gladwin Chery Austin
Subs Lumley, Jet, Diakite, Henry, Hoilet, Furlong, Polter etc etc
Tidy 1st 11 with plenty of depth on the bench. Couple more defenders would do.

Hold the press, you've got to get Fer in there!

Maybe Perch can play centre back but he is very very poor. Right back is his best position but he is found wanting here too. He is as versatile as an egg

Hold the press, you've got to get Fer in there! Why? We will need fourteen players that will give 100%. That rules Leroy out!

From getwestlondon www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/qpr-injury-update-charlie-austin-9811727QPR injury update as Charlie Austin set to start at Charlton13:38, 7 AUGUST 2015 BY PAUL WARBURTON Today: Chris Ramsey at the QPR training ground Chris Ramsey reckons he's going to get the best out of Charlie Austin while he can - starting with the opening game of the season at Charlton tomorrow The coveted QPR striker has been linked with half the Premier League in a £15m move, but as yet no-one has put cash on the table. "We’ve had good game time from Charlie over the last two years," the coach said. "So for how long he’s here we're hopeful of the same. "But if he does go, we're ready to use the players we've brought in over the summer to good efect." Rangers face the Addicks in front of a sell-out away section 3,200 fans without Leroy Fer, struggling with a recurrence of a knee injury at Sunderland in February, itself an aggravation of an injury in the past. The Dutch midfielder may yet move on anyway, but he's joined on the treatment table by Armand Traore and Yuk-sun-Young that leaves a space for stalwart Paul Konchesky at left-back, newly arrived from Leicester. Ramsey added: "Paul's looking fit and sharp." Rookie defender Cole Kpekawa is struggling with a broken hand, although is expected to take a place on the bench.

I know it's only the first game and expectations are low but does it really have to be so predictable !

What a day!
A few problems with Grotty (Greater Anglia Railways)led to having a drink at London Bridge rather than having time to visit The Rose of Denmark. Then the day got worse!
We arrived at the ground around 2.30 only for Iain to discover that he had lost his match ticket on route! After a while of being sent from ticket office to another we were in our seats around 3.10.
Here, a big thank you must go to Charlton Athletic for how they dealt with the situation. In particular, the lady who is in charges of the turnstyle operators at the away section. In the end she ordered that Iain should be allowed admittance as she took pity on a senior citizen who still need to take control of a man in his thirties!
Then to the match. I've been told that for the first ten minutes we were in control & looking comfortable. For the rest of that half we were still the better side but at no pont did we look as if we could score. Tghe second half was a different matter.
Charlton deserved their win in the end, but it might have been different if we had built up attacks at a higher tempo. Whether this was due to a lack of movement ahead of the ball or that we felt we needed extra touches of the ball I will leave to others to address. Also, Green being beaten (again & again & again) at his near post cost us dear. The match was over directly they scored.
Man of The Match? Without doubt the lady employee of Charlton!

Glad it all worked out ok mate, but I think you may have missed the best bit of the match. Remind me not to mention tickets to Iain before the Cardiff match.
