OK it's stupidly early for this but in an ideal world if you could choose who stays, goes etc what would your starting XI look like? I'd like to see a good mix of experience and youth and a good load of the big earners gone! McCarthy | Furlong | Caulker | Onouha or Ehmer | Yun | Phillips | Faurlin | Loan | Fer | Austin | Grego-Cox |

I would like to add, I do know Caulker and Onouha have been disastrous this season, but I think at championship level they'd be rocks at the back and will restore their confidence. Very decent players hidden away in there somewhere!

Ramsey's certainly got the best out of Onuaha and Caulker this season.

Ramsey's certainly got the best out of Onuaha and Caulker this season. I sense some sarcasm here? These 2 were void of any confidence from a few weeks into the season. On the other hand Phillips has been a revelation under CR. I do believe with "his" squad and the "bad eggs" gone, players will find confidence and therefore, form!

JJ I'm sarcastic because I'm deflated and exasperated as a fan at the lack of ambition of the club appointing Ramsey, I've no fight left to complain. By what I've seen of Ramsey he's going to be the type of manager that pinpoints areas of attack by only using 1 player and I hope he can retain Phillips services. Adding on the teamsheet - I would imagine that Ramsey will be spending a lot of time this summer trying to revitalize Hoillet and trying to get another 18 months out of SWP so I would add them left right mid.

IMO I would not give two hoots if those two played for us next season.
I thought Caulker was a great signing , maybe there is some coincidence in two straight relegations. With Nedum every year I think there is going to be a rock in there. Sadly this year I havnt been impressed again if honest. If frank I am totally unimpressed with most of our defence .
I like Yun, furlong will be a good player . Dunne may have a year in the Championship in him , handled the Prem well at the start.
Rio was poor . Isla started good and faded. Hill a fantastic guy, great battler but not a Prem player for sure. They may give him a deal coaching and playing this year. He should still be a asset in this League. Traore another who has failed to produce.
At times this year our forwards, midfield and Rob have done wonders but the defence so too often has messed up or not concentrated for the full duration of 90 mins.
We need some new faces in this area I feel but may be totally wrong ?

I'm deflated and exasperated as a fan at the lack of ambition of the club appointing Ramsey The trouble is Floridar we've appointed more "ambitiously" with the last couple of managers (Redknapp was touted for England job not long before we got him) and it's just landed us back where we started and they've given us some of the worst players to ever don a QPR shirt (in terms of attitude especially). I for one am glad we've not gone down the same route again with a big household name who will only repeat the process. We need to rebuild, start using our youth and scouting system(!!) and not rely on big name managers signing their "right sort" players none of whom have got us anywhere at all.

We need some new faces in this area I feel but may be totally wrong ? Not wrong at all. I'd like to give Yun and Furlong full seasons, I'd also like to see Ehmer given a season with us , not on loan. If Ned and Caulker were to carry on as they finished then I'd be the first calling for them to be dropped. I just don't think it was through lack of trying, just confidence issues with both. I could be wrong though! Ehmer and Dunne would certainly have the youth/experience mix Id like to see throughout the squad. Think Ehmer could learn a lot playing along side the likes of him.

Center Mid's going to be a crucial signing for the side this coming year. I see at least 2 being needed going the style of Ramsey.
Does Sandro fit or does anyone think he'll activate his relegation clause ?

Does Sandro fit or does anyone think he'll activate his relegation clause ? I think he'll be gone either way, I sort of hope so too, as good as he may be I don't think he has the mentality to play in championship, only came here because of HR and won't hang about. Then there's his injury proneness :/ I think Barton has had a great season comparably, but again I think he should move on now, I think he's to unstable and we need stability now! So yes we could maybe sign another CM, especially as poor Ale may not get back to his old self, or worse yet may get injured again!

I'd retain Henry for midfield stability consider keeping Barton as I doubt Faurlin will be guaranteed to return fit enough, unfortunately! What's happened to Donaldson?-shouldn't he be in contention at the back, Robinson too-though he had a bad injury on loan to recover from? Can't imagine Sandro playing in Championship though I doubt there will be many takers for him? In fact that applies to a number of our players who will be difficult to get rid of-though being out of contract will obviously help!! Hope that Hill joins the coaching staff. I'd also retain Dunne if he continues- though wouldn't be surprised if he retires? Agree with most of jjqpr's team otherwise. Would like to see some increase in the resilience/ energy/flair/inventiveness in the team-1 at the back, midfield and forward would be great-through the 'spine' of the team and of course much will depend on who goes out of the 'star performers' ie Austin,Fer,Phillips. All in all quite a challenge for the new manager/coach !!

With so many players needed to move on, my starting XI would be:
GK McCarthy RB Furlong LB New signing/Robinson when fit CB New signing CB New signing RM Petrasso CM Faurlin CM New signing LM Manning STR New signing STR Reece-Cox
Leaving these as subs:
Harriman Ehmer Yun Doughty Sutherland 5 x new signings

I would definitely give Henry a deal . Have no problem with a years deal for Dunne either. Caulker? Would he play in the Championship or would Watford,Bournemouth come in for him, he could do the treble. Seriously though, Im sure he wouldnt have a problem in the Championship but he certainly has underperformed in Prem for 2 years. Where's Nedum, binned off ? Will be interesting Summer to see how it pans out, quite exciting

I think Caulker would do a job at that level, obviously if we can get £6m+ for him then go for it and get someone else

I would offer him a one year or two year contract . He has done better than what we all expected. Deserves it , probably Dunne deserves a one year deal too. Charlie, Phillips, Barton are in my nice to keep group with Henry and Dunne. Sandro,Fer, Caulker, in my not fussed group. Taarabt and Traore in my must go bargain bucket group. Rob Green , would love to keep but maybe time McCarthy was the main man, so If we got 2 Million good business.

We dont have to worry anout him, hasnt a contract after this game. If someone resigned him I would imagine it would potentially all kick off.

Release Murphy, Ferdinand, Dunne, Wright-Phillips, Barton, Faurlin & Woderwick
1 year deals to Hill (player-coach), Henry & Zamora
Probably selling Austin, Fer, Green, Sandro, Phillips & Caulker
Try and sell Traore, Taarabt & Diakite
Use McCarthy. Furlong, Onouha, Ehmer, Donaldson, Kpekawa, Yun, Robinson, Doughty, Hoilett, Sutherland, Mitchell, Comley, Mulraney, Manning, Corkery, Petrasso & Grego-Cox
Buy (or loan if having to) 5 or 6 players from Championship or Div 1 clubs and who are experienced but the right side of 30. Probably including a Captain (defender), a holding midfielder and a 20 goals a season striker.
Mid table obscurity would do me next season with a play off push the following season. I am guessing many will say this philosophy could mean a struggle in the bottom half and a possible relegation battle but we will never know unless we give some of these lads a proper chance.

Does anyone have a concrete breakdown of our current squad in terms of whose contract is up this summer, which loanees are returning to their parent clubs, who we'll still have on the books to play or sell, etc.?
I'm sure I've already seen this on the message board somewhere, probably multiple places in fact, but can't seem to find it again myself so a link or copy and paste job would be much appreciated!

Might not have all the bells, whistles & glam but tried and tested. For good attacking football - Michael Laudrup. Both better choices.
