AirAsia, is to lose thousands Aussie customers, who would normally, fly to Bali, Indonesia for holidays. My son, his wife, their three children and myself, have now cancelled our proposed trip. The reason, two Australians, a Filipino woman, a Frenchman and a Brazilian, in the next few hours, are to be executed by firing squad. What came you say, I am lost for words. www.smh.com.au/world/bali-9-latest-reports-on-executions-of-andrew-chan-and-myuran-sukumaran-20150428-1mv6d8.html

Yes I've been reading about the Indonesian action
It's obviously not Tony Fernandes/Air Asia's fault (or probably something they even support)
But a very understandable action to take

Yes Mac, executions have been carried out by firing squad. FFS, what world countries, still execute by firing squads. It will be interesting to see, what the political fall out will be, between our countries, if not the world. I think that Indonesia,s reputation, as a progressive country, has gone back in time.

Their use of capital punishment is interesting. They inforce it against foreigners in their own country but spend a lot of time and money trying to save the lives of Indonesians who are on death row in other countries around the world.

You would not believe, the story, behind this case. It is the story of the Bali Nine, who could have been arrested before leaving Australia, but were let go to face a death sentence. There is dirty politics involved, and hopefully one day a good journalist, will come good with all the facts. The article below, sets out the scenario. www.theaustralian.com.au/news/features/how-the-afp-trapped-the-bali-nine/story-e6frg6z6-1225910600831

The bit I liked was that if you survive more than 10 minutes after being shot in the heart, some F***er then comes up and sticks another one in your head just to make sure. The only thing that has surprised me is that the Indonesian president didn't request that the executions be shown "live" on TV.
This whole thing was a circus with photo opportunities for military officials to get their pics taken with the drug dealers. Sure they may have F***ed up a few lives with their drugs but 9 or more years in an Indonesian prison would be like doing 45 years in a UK, Aussie, US or New Zealand one.
Indonesia will be shaking in their boots though, Murray McCully - our New zealand "Foreign" minister has expressed "dismay". Not that they have ever heard of him but this whimp is about as scarey as a wet bus ticket.

Bad news all round for humanity. Sad that people are so desperate or just plain stupid, and take the chance of smuggling heroin in country that could take your life with their strict laws. Sad for the families who have lost so much for scummy smack. Sad that these 8 will be added to the thousands of lives lost every year around the world due to heroin.
Just tragic all round.
