Way too cheap.
He'll get 20 goals this season, I reckon he's worth at least £15m.
I'd prefer he went to Southampton though. Better club, proper owners and better chance of European football and an England call up.
Charlie deserves better than us but he deserves better than Newcastle too.

I just don't see Newcastle as much of an upgrade. Southampton are run better and are a better team. Plus closer to London too.
I have no problem with him moving on, especially if we go down, but I hope he gets a top 7 side.
Being a homegrown player he should have his pick of top clubs and command a premium fee too.
I'd feel cheated if we sold him for £10m. Considering what Spurs paid for Soldado, who's complete pony, £10m is quite frankly a Black Friday level bargain basement giveaway price for an England qualified striker who'll bag a good side 25 goals a season easily.

Considering plenty thought he wasn't worth 10 bob at the start of the season seems a decent price!

I'd say £15m to £20m and I rather see him go to a better place than Newcastle. Also, Kilburn there is a big difference between now and the beginning of the season, now he is a proven top striker in the top flight, he wasn't before this season. Even strikers who have only proven prolific in the Championship like Troy Deeney and Jordan Rhodes were valued around £10m in the last transfer window. Top strikers are getting more and more expensive and if we can't keep Charlie, we need to get top money for him. Honestly based on his performance this season alone and the price top 5 teams are playing for strikers(who are mostly less successful), I think even £25m is in the realm of possibilities.

Agree. At the moment we should be looking to get at least 15 to 20 million for him. We have always gave our best players away on the cheap. no more.
Just be nice if we could keep him a bit longer, if we go down then those goals and maybe promotion with them would be worth more than a transfer fee now. But that is a gamble, and him and his agent wont want to go back to the championship anyway so looks like make the most of what you see of him now. Gutted when he does leave. That's football though.

If he leaves we should get Jordan Rhodes.
If he goes to Southampton we should be cheeky and see if we can get Jay Rodriguez on loan for a season to help build his confidence back up.
He'd tear apart Championship defences.

Will Charlie leave.? That is the million dollar question. It might depend on our NEW Manager and Tony, after a long discussion.

If Andy caroll was worth 35 Million, so too is Charlie and he's less of an injury risk.

I don't think he will leave unless the money is to good to turn down (£20 million+)or one of top 4 come in for him. Not the type of player who would be happy to sit on the bench!!!

That all depends on if we stay up. I am sure he doesn't want to return to the Championship at this point in his career. If we go down, I am sure he would have no problem playing for a team like Newcastle. If we stay up, I agree it would probably take top money and a top side to get him. Not only that, but if we stay up we can afford to keep him and hold out to the highest bidder if the money is right. We go down, and our hand to sell is pretty much forced, especially if we get the large FFP fine expected.

Chelsea ‘eyeing up transfer move for QPR striker Charlie Austin’Chelsea are reportedly lining up a summer transfer move for QPR striker Charlie Austin. Austin, 25, has enjoyed a remarkable debut season in the Premier League, scoring 17 goals in in 30 appearances for the relegation-battling Hoops. The English centre-forward is believed to have caught the attention of Blues boss Jose Mourinho, and Chelsea are weighing up a move for the him at the end of the season, according to reports. Neighbouring QPR fans would surely be livid if Chelsea were to snatch Austin from them in the summer. metro.co.uk/2015/04/26/chelsea-eyeing-up-transfer-move-for-qpr-striker-charlie-austin-5167459/?It does make you wonder who writes this nonsense.

I'd say if we go down, 100% Austin leaves - He'll want to go and we'll want to sell him
As for Jordan Rhodes, I don't think we'll be signing 10 million pound players any more

Going to upset a few here but talk of anything more than £10\£12 million is fantasy. He's an average striker in a poor team thats done ok,thats all.We all remember his goals (with a couple of stunners I agree) but having been to the vast majority of this seasons games there is no doubt that he needs 3 or 4 chances to score each goal. He also needs to dramatically improve his first touch.I dont wish to be controversial but there is no doubt in my mind Remy would have been immeasurably more successful and Vargas would have been at least as effective if we'd let him have a run in his natural position.

And how good would he be in a good team? Scoring a lot more goals imo. 30 million to Chelsea I suggest.
