Why was Harry so eager to acquire him, and so delighted when he did.

Because when he's actually fit he is a great player

Just watching Palace dismantle West Ham at Upton Park.
The more I see other teams performances away from home the more p*ssed off I get with Redknapp and his 'every away game's a bonus' nonsense. Thank goodness he's gone but the damage may already be done.
On topic, Sandro is a more expensive Kieron Dyer. His injury record was dreadful at Spurs. Why did HR think it was going to be any better here? Awful waste of money from a manager who had long run out of ideas and all he had left was to buy up all his old players.

I believe he was "a good buy". In other words he came cheaper than most of his standard but for the obvious reasons it was a gamble because he's injury prone and hasn't yet come off.

Worth about half what we paid for him , didn't need him , should've given Watford the 10 mill they wanted for Deeney instead .

He'll probably be the first to put his transfer request in if we get relegated , probably got a 2 mill buy out clause written in as well . Tony don't you ever learn , Harry's shafted you with this one I'm afraid !

I heard a radio interview with Spurs fans who were very upset they let Sandro go.
He is just another in the line of players whose careers are blighted by a barren spell at QPR

I heard a radio interview with Spurs fans who were very upset they let Sandro go. He is just another in the line of players whose careers are blighted by a barren spell at QPR Yeah in fairness I thought he could have been good for us, but still seemed to not fit the profile of the kind of players I hoped we'd be bringing in (young, hungry etc. although I felt that Phillips and Hoilett were the 'right' kind of signings at the time and they've not worked exactly as we hoped yet...). I live with a Spurs fan and the impression I got from him is that whilst a lot of Spurs fans definitely rated him, them being gutted about him leaving was as much to do with his personality as his skill. He was a bit of a cult figure there.
