Harry Redknapp can't fault beaten QPR for effort at Burnley

Silly mistakes cost the R's the points rather than a lack of endeavour
Harry Redknapp couldn’t fault the effort of his QPR players as they set a new record for Premier League away defeats at Burnley.
Scott Arfield opened the scoring for the Clarets before Charlie Austin levelled from the penalty spot and Danny Ings got what proved to be the winner shortly before half-time.
The loss was QPR’s tenth straight reverse on the road and saw them slip back into the relegation zone but R’s manager Redknapp believes his troops gave everything.
“I thought we worked hard but we defended badly for two goals,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“At 1-1, I felt we came back into the game and at that stage I felt we were on top of them, we were creating chances and then we go and give a horrendous goal away. It should’ve been dealt with and suddenly you come in 2-1 down at half time.
“It’s tough. They’re a good team and they work hard. They’re always dangerous and they’ve got good front players at the club but there was no lack of effort, I couldn’t have asked for any more than what we gave today.
"If we’re not good enough to win the game then so be it but I certainly saw the effort there today. We just defended badly on two occasions and it cost us.
“It’s very difficult [when you are playing away from home].
"Some teams have won one game away from home - does that make them fantastic? That’s the way it goes.

"We certainly tried hard enough today, it just wasn’t to be. You can’t defend like we did. They were two horrendous goals.”
QPR make a welcome return to Loftus Road next weekend but face a stern challenge in the form of Manchester United.
Rangers’ next opportunity to get that first away victory comes seven days later at Stoke City.
