Gramps, I've not posted here in ages but had to say something on reading this sad news. Quite what to say is the hard part isn't it! Just fight the fight and as someone famous once said do not go gently into that good night.

I remember with clarity when my children were born, I remember with sadness of loved ones departing,I remember with as much clearness when QPR made me happy. But these events are not just what makes our lives.
Our lives are enriched with snapshots of moments that all come together to build what our existence is all about.
Some are bad, but most are good.
Meeting you john is a snapshot that is amongst my happy collage of my life. And it remains there for eternity.
Now...whether you live for 3 months, or 3 years, don't matter for me, and I'm being selfish here, cos I know that I will see you again whatever. That is my comfort in your sad news.
All our snapshots of happy memories will re visit us.
If I don't see you soon john, I will see you later. Be strong , for you have eternity.
Much love. Maude.

Gramps, I am stunned by your news and my heart goes out to you and your family at this time. You are a greatly respected memnber of this board and it goes without saying that we all hope the diagnosis is wrong and you are still with us for a long time yet. Your posts and your book has bought joy to many and help raised money for a worthy cause. You are a great guy and if there were more like you this world would be a much better place.
Keep fighting Gramps.

Coming back from 2-0 down to win. That's the roller coaster of being an Rs fan.
I hope the win brings a smile to your face Gramps. Thinking of you.

I was about to post a new thread, Jack, titled "Déja Vu". I seem to recall a certain League Cup Final in 1967 at Wembley with QPR 0-2 down at half time and coming back to win 3-2 against West Brom right at the last knockings! Brought a tear to my eye as well as a smile to my face, Sharky. If I go to my grave knowing that my beloved QPR are still in the Premier League then I shall die a happy man. Just hope I can get a decent stream up there!
