Bump/Edit - 5 Years QPR Official Site QPR CLUB STATEMENT: HARRY REDKNAPP & ADEL TAARABT Loftus Road PUBLISHED 17:35 21st October 2014 by @qprfc QPR Chairman Tony Fernandes issues statement relating to recent press coverage involving Harry Redknapp and Adel Taarabt … QPR CHAIRMAN Tony Fernandes has issued the following statement relating to recent press coverage involving Harry Redknapp and Adel Taarabt: ‘As a club, we are fully aware of stories in the press over the last few days regarding Harry Redknapp and Adel Taarabt. We regret these issues being played out in public and both Harry Redknapp and Adel Taarabt have been notified of our disappointment regarding their handling of the situation. I have spoken to them both personally. On behalf of the club, I would like to apologise to the QPR supporters for the embarrassment this has caused and confirm that the issue has been dealt with internally. The club’s entire focus is now on the Aston Villa fixture next Monday and hopefully after a tough few days we can turn a negative into a positive and build on Sunday’s improved display.’ The club will be making no further comment www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/211014-qpr-club-statement-harry-redknapp-adel-taarabt-2030179.aspx

Well done TF. This needed to be done.
Showed some proper leadership and told them both to knock this crap off.
Both should be grounded for a week and this should never have gotten to this point anyway.

Good stuff for Tony to step up and be a leader. Obviously there was the deleted tweet and all that nonsense, but eventually sounds like he did the right thing. Just needs to be more careful with his tweeting.

As for a certain deleted tweet by a certain Chairman... Which one? He has deleted so many recently. Seems like he is making a few mind mistakes socially. Does anyone know of any other Club Chairman in the premiership that show Tony's type of behavior to fans ?

As for a certain deleted tweet by a certain Chairman... Which one? He has deleted so many recently. Why does he keep tweeting stuff and then delete them? What have I missed . Do any other other board members do this Amit , Beard or just Tony ? I can understand once or twice but not continually, a bit amateurish. I blame Harry

On another matter: How much Truth/Validity was there to what Taarabt said about training, Redknapp's role, pre-match preparation, role of Hoddle, etc?

Not quite. He can walk away...He can cut his losses (if he has losses).. And suddenly like, Paladini, Briatore, Caliendo, Blackburn, Wright, Thompson - Suddenly the LOVE for QPR is no longer - And it will be the Fans (and the new "I Love QPR" Chairman"" still supporting the club. After all one minute, He's "Caterham." Next he's sold them, and no longer.

I won't argue re BP I would say - at least thus far - he actually not done far more than all the others put together. He talks big...And he comes across, very well...And maybe much of it will happen. But AT THIS POINT OF TIME - For Starters, he's lost some 200 million pounds, just to put us back to where we were when we arrived!

Surely some of you on here look forward to the day when you wake up and find something positive to say about QPR rather than negativity all the time. It's becoming tiresome and if I always felt so negative about my club I would decide to look for something different to do with my free time!!!!

It's becoming tiresome and if I always felt so negative about my club I would decide to look for something different to do with my free time!!!! You've had a bad few months at work and they regret, but they have to let you go. A mile from home you run out of petrol and walk the last mile in the pouring cold rain. When you get home all the lights are off and in the cold kitchen there's a note saying your wife has left you for your best friend. The house is in turmoil as she's taken all the valuables and clothes, then you find the gun you hid years ago. Sod that you think, I'm better than this. I know, I'll log into QPR Report to cheer myself up . . . . . . . . Where's that gun!

I wake up most mornings and think positive about QPR. I do not post it often because it is either trivial or I know will be met with a stream of abuse, but I stay positive in my own mind. The tiresome bit is not what I think or feel but what I read when I switch on the PC. What I read will not stop my support of QPR but may make me find something different to read. What abuse?

I could have picked any number of threads to post this but have chosen this one because of 57's comment about receiving abuse.
Please feel free to move this to a differnet thread or delete if applicable.
I assume that I'm regarded by some as being negative towards Queens Park Rangers as I'm very much opposed to Harold as manager & have reservations regarding the reasons for our ownership by The Tune Group (TF & partners). Do I regard myself as negative?
NO, NO, NO!
I regard myself as looking for positives for the long term future of the club I support - QUEENS PARK RANGERS. I'm not interested in us trying to make short term fixes that may keep us in the Premier League for another season (although requiring another dismantling of the team come the following summer) at the expense of building a side for the future. This is also to include paying the norm in transfers, agents fees, wages & bonuses etc. to all the staff, be they in magagement, playing, marketing etc.
I understand that it is almost impossible for a football club of our size to operate in profit (although some clubs manage to) & that we require some cash injection from owners, sponsors or whomever. That does not mean that we should not aim to minimise our losses & continue to build debt. It may be that this debt is internal, as I believe our's is but I reserve the right to question whether thsi may become a nasty problem if we lose out in the bidding war to develop Old Oak.
Now, at no time have I received direct abuse when I have aired my views, but many is the timne that replies from certain posters have bordered on contempt. I also realise that these posters are treated in the same way at times for expressing pro HR & TF views. However being pro these figures does not make them positive posters & anti people negstive. I could name posters though that have definitely received abuse!
The overlong thread on that little private public spat from last Sunday is a case in point, not just on this board, as I believe posters on 606 are even further entrenched than on Report. However, what is wrong with stating that there is fault on both sides rather than blindly following the dictate that my party is right no matter what?
It is not possible that TF can do nothing right for this club. It is also impossible that everything he does or says is good for us either.
Can we return to a more peaceful board soon please?

I can and will only defend or apologize - or not apologize - for my own posts and how I "conduct" myself.
And basically I stand on my record.
And I certainly do not abuse
And that was one of the core founding principles of this board
One of my old messageboard Critics, once said (meaning it as a criticism - QPR Report wants to know everything that's going on at QPR. Perhaps for the only time, he was absolutely right!
In the best traditions of QPR, "I will have no further comment" (until I do!)

Nicely put Terry . It may take a while for a more normal peaceful board though? Some people want rid of Harry and the other two ( like myself)and others are prepared to give him a season. IF he picks up some wins and we start playing regularly more like Sunday a lot of supporters will back him . If he doesn't get a win or two in the next four games his record will be as bad a Hughes and if TF sticks with him beyond this point, then I don't see a settled board as you will still have that divide until this pans out one way or the other. As long as the disputes don't get to be personal attacks then it's still good point of discussion . Everyone should be able to put there views on here though for and against them . I think if you go back two years the board will be the same while Hughes struggled. I will have a look at a few posts. Sadly though while we remain 20th with 4 points the mood will still be a little low. I think it will be interesting to see how this all turns out, I have nothing against TF. I quite like most of the things he does(deleting tweets and getting to close to players apart) let's face it, we are never going to get a Chairman that every single one of us likes, hell of a lot worse out there. Onwards and Upwards, we really ought to be beating Villa Monday though.
