www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/astonishing-attack-adel-taarabt-qpr-7961136 Astonishing attack on Adel Taarabt by QPR boss Oct 19, 2014 16:23 By MSP GetWestLondon 0 Comments Midfielder gets lambasted by Rs manager Missing: Taarabt Harry Redknapp pulled no punches when he launched into Adel Taarabt's following a gutting defeat to Liverpool. The midfielder was left out of the squad to face the Reds, and his manager revealed why in no uncertain terms. When the irate boss said 'he's not fit to play football' - there was almost the hint of a double meaning as he spat it out. "He played in a reserve match the other day, and I could have run around more than he did," the 67-year-old manager added. "I want players who want to try and work every day at a good club like QPR, and show a good attitude - and that's what I got from the players against Liverpool. "When he (Taarabt) starts doing that, whether he ever can even do it, maybe he'll get a game. I've got a fantastic group of lads, and what am I supposed to say when I get asked a question (about Taarabt)? "I can't keep protecting them, when he's three stone overweight and on 60, 70 grand a week and don't train. What's the world coming to?"

Very unprofessional from Redknapp. No wonder the players are playing like shitee for him this year. Today's performance would indicate the opposite. I would imagine the majority of the rest of the squad would agree with him.

Oh, and 3 stone overweight? I'm 3 stone overweight and I'm 50 and disabled. For a so-called professional athlete in his 20s, that's absolutely disgusting!

Adel has had his day the fact he is still here shows what a liability he has become no one would want to pay for him. Will never forget what he contributed 2010/2011 season but get rid in the jan window or sack him for not fufilling his contract

He played well against West Ham... Which Reserve game did he play in that he was so unfit? It was NOT the U-21 Game vs Coventry QPR Under-21s: Lumley (GK), Furlong, Kakay (Wise 63), Ehmer, Kpekawa (Laurent 68), Comley, Sutherland, Mitchell, Gibbons (Shodipo 82), Andrade, Grego-Cox Subs: Hudnott, Komodikis. My only question's to HR on this would be:-
Was he so overweight & unfit two weeks sgo? If so, why was he in the squad at West Ham & why did you bring him on?
If he wasn't, what has happened in the past two weeks to change this?

If he wasn't, what has happened in the past two weeks to change this? Feel it could be that he had enough fitness and conditioning to be a Sub and maybe come on for 20 mins but not enough for a whole game. Also by him coming on as sub would have helped with his conditioning and fitness. Also feel that there is more to Harry's outburst than just his fitness!!!!!

Very unprofessional from Redknapp. No wonder the players are playing like shitee for him this year. I bet it took a bit more effort this week to combine a negative with an attack on Redknapp but you've pulled it off . I wish the team had your consistency.

Harry is showing the spoilt brat who is the boss, something the overweight shite isn't used to. Neil Warnock may have been prepared to suck up to him (read his book), but there is no tail wagging the dog any more. Do one Adel.

My point being if you treat players like that who have nothing to do with todays game or loss then its a wonder any of the squad respect him. Wonder who's going to be next that he puts down ? Today the side shipped a record 3 own goals...Pick on them they caused the loss of the game ffs

I think if Redknapp had been in charge of Stan Bowles, Bowles wouldnt have lasted at QPR! Wrong. Bowles produced where it mattered-on the pitch. If Adel was fit enough to start and was playing at the level of, say, Tadic at Southampton then Harry would play him. Harry would've accommodated Bowles because he would've know that he could have trusted him to deliver come 3:00 on a Saturday afternoon. He doesn't feel he can trust Tarbs yet.

Its kinda weird reading how people still think Adel is a fantastic football player and should be allowed to do what he wants, when he wants. Every person in football knows what a disruptive piece of work he is, apart from his harem on here and WATRB.
I wonder if those people realise how deluded they sound and how stupid they make themselves look, blaming everyone but Adel. No manager in world football wants him, even after his so called superman performance in Italy last season (after being kicked out of two clubs in 5 months, which has to be a record).
He will go to some sand pit in the Middle East in January, where he will become rich.

And to be serious: I obviously don't know what's behind the scenes.
But Redknapp has his favourites and his non-favourites.
A public personal attack like Redknapp did was reprehensible
And as I said, Taarabt when he came on vs West Ham -didnt look 40 pounds overweight - and looked better than the other QPR Players
And I wasnt trying quite to say Adel is like Bowles = except Bowles was a "Problem Player" cast out of Manchester City....and he needed to be "indulged" and treated in a certain way. With Adel, not tried.
And I would say, KNOWING Harry is against him, just makes Adel not worse.
And we could use a quality player

We don't know he's a negative influence. At least 2 or 3 QPR players in the last few months were praising Adel and saying they'd like him to be playing.
My point is not that it's a case of "Adel right or wrong." But that at a minimum, the Redknapp-Adel relationship is for whatever reason, like Chalk and Cheese.
- And Redknapp was saying cutting comments re Adel even when he was at Spurs and loaned/sold him to QPR

Correct Mac he never rated him at Spurs hence selling him to us for a bargain basement 600k He probably needs to leave the Club once and for all for QPR 's sake and for himself . There is no question of his talent when his mind is in the right place hence the goals he banged in last year when loaned. All players have certain Players they can work with , Warnock managed it with Adel but Hughes and Harry haven't. Hopefully this saga can end soon .

At least be man enough to say it, instead of trying to sound knowledgeable and playing with words.

Its a shame.
We've got enough on our plate with our position in the league, injuries that seem to increase by the week (or is it because we keep on buying players that are injury prone?) a manager and a player with a book to sell and now the diversion of Adel.
Had we got a point would there have been any mention of Adel? Who knows.
At the very least we saw something on the pitch that for the very first time for a long time gave, even if it is only a glimmer, gave us some hope.
That's what Harry should be concentrating on……
