Six games in, four points on the board, 18 th place maybe 19-20 th tomorrow.
Truthfully is that where you thought we might be ?
I think lots of Rangers fans expected more ?
Can you see three teams that we could finish comfortably above, sure there's 6-7 that will continue to struggle ?
I would have hoped to have got 6-8 points from these games if truthful.
If we don't pick up close to 18-19 points by the end of the year I really can't see us pulling things back.
We will end up with a bit of panic buying in Jan or more loans more disruption and it just doesn't work.
We seem to have learnt in certain areas but I can't help thinking we still get things wrong.
The only good start we had was with Warnock , the season start was poor under Hughes and this one isn't going great.
When you see some of the starts that newly promoted teams have kicked off with, why can't we do it, baffles me.
Going to be a long season, hope it gets a bit more enjoyable for us all.

I thought we'd lose. I thought we'd roll over and die. In the end we could have snatched an (undeserved) draw. We didnt. But 2-1 at St.Mary's is not a disaster. Bolted to the other results it's grim I know. We're not dead yet though.

Our defense has too many holes. We were lucky at half time to still be in match. They seemed sharper, incisive and knew how to tackle. We seemed limp, poor shape, and no starch.
Like a shirt from cleaners that wasn't cleaned properly. Amazingly it took two trick goals for them to beat us, bicycle and back foot. Then charlies magic and a Krajcar almost kept us in a match we
should have been miles out of. Charlie should have had another one too. Amazingly it took an injury to Barton to find Kranjcars aplomb at taking the free kicks. Why Why, and why doesn't
Junior Hollett start???
Team doesn't look as bad as last two prems when we played in slow motion.
Manager has to know his players better.
I don't think we can compete at this level, nor do we know how to buy, in window. An overpriced injured man and then no striker to help Charlie: they should seen Remy as a no go.
Only went up cos of the miracle goal. I picked 17th but meant 19th. Hard to watch. Will it get better. Only if the team and management work out an on the field solution to consistently play like we want to win, from the kickoff.

I expected much better than this. On paper we have a reasonable enough squad but as per normal they are playing as individuals. Rio is another Park. I honestly hope Caulker doesn't learn how to assist the opposition like Rio does.

I hoped we would better but I don't think that we are in dire trouble yet. We are beginning to gel IMO. The next couple of months will be decisive.

At the start of the season I said give Harry 10 games to show what we have got. 4 points from 18 isn't a lot. Some play is better and some is school boy quality.

I honestly hope Caulker doesn't learn how to assist the opposition like Rio does. Couldn't agree more, Rio really is looking like Park and Onouha or even Dunne should be starting over him. It's interesting how Isla improved so much in this game and realized he can't showboat in the backfield, also he's only 21. While Rio tried to get cute with his passes, one costing us a goal and another one nearly causing Green to miss. He just doesn't get it, this isn't Man U, he needs to clear the ball or be more careful with his passing, his marking was better in this game, but it's not good enough. Also, Fer looked completely lost in this game, although he had good performances in the past. Traore also had a poor game and I would prefer to see Yun Suk Young playing, but he is still better than Hill or Dunne at the LB position. On the good side, Charlie looks up for this level. Nico is playing amazingly well and is a master of free kicks. Henry is doing much better than expected and at the very least has proven to be a solid depth player, if not a fairly regular starter. Vargas seems to be getting it and playing much better, same with Isla. Just need to get some of the midfielders back healthy and I would like to have Yun Suk Young in as LB.

Yes, agree lots of positives yesterday . The Chileans are improving for sure . Ferdinand needs to step up and I see nothing in M Phillips every time he puts a QPR shot on . He is incapable of getting a shot on target and would love to know his shots to goal ratio. Not a vast improvement on the other one named Phillips

Let's hope honourable defeat is not the best we can look forward to. 'Fer getting fitter' as Arry says is a shocking indictment of our training and fitness regime. Some serious arse kicking required methinks.

I thought we'd lose at Spurs and Man U but not in the manner of both defeats that were unacceptable.
Southampton has always been pretty good for us from my memory so I'd expected a point from our trip.
I thought we'd get 7 points from our opening 3 home games as on paper they were against 'easier' opposition.
So I'd have had us at 8 points rather than 4 at the end of September.

If you read David McIntyre's tweets yesterday, was saying Sticking with Redknapp was our best hope No doubt. I am torn at the moment though. Part of me accepts that this is Harry's team now and that they will need at least 10 games to actually really establish their identity. By January this team could be clicking and firing on all 4 cylinders and be quite good actually. So I need to temper my expectations at this stage. If you looked at the Prem table last season after 6 games there would've been two teams that you'd have stuck your house on them both getting relegated. But Palace and Sunderland are still in the Prem, which tells me that no team is a lost cause at this stage of the season. The other half of me worries that Harry is too obsessed with his old boys and that a fresh bright young British manager like, say, Eddie Howe at Bournemouth would actually not be afraid to go with some of our kids instead of the same old faces. However, a manager like Howe is unlikely to stand up to our clueless board and so at least Harry has enough cachet at the club that he has put a stop to a lot of the boardroom foolishness that blighted our last Premier League campaign. Harry's task now is to tighten up a defence that is far too generous to its opponents for its own good.

When NW joined we thought we could be clicking and firing on all cylinders after 10-12 games , them we stayed pretty motionless for 10 games. We need points and quickly too. I don't think HR will have so many admirers if this 6 game form stays the same pattern for 12-15 games.

I think Dave McIntyre isnt saying Redknapp is the best manager in the country - but for the kind of club we now have - presuming meaning the owners/ambition, etc, etc, Redknapp is the one best equipped to handle both the players we have and the owners we have

If we lost to Liverpool and drew with Villa would be a disaster Could be on 5 points after Chelsea and City games, with 11 games gone, almost a third of the season. As we know after Hughes, it gets nearly impossible to turn this around, you are adrift. If this Happens TF will have a decision to make . Let's hope we can at least pick up points at home .

It's not all doom and gloom though after a bad start.
Is this achievable ?
WE HAVE 4 POINTS
GET 4 POINTS FROM WH , LIVERPOOL , VILLA
GET 4 PTS FROM MAN C. NEWCASTLE and LEICESTER
GET 9 PTS FROM. SWANSEA WESTBROM , BURNLEY , ARSENAL , EVERTON , PALACE
That would give us 21 PTS at the end of 2014 . Even if we got 7 PTS in Dec would take 19 PTS . Would be halfway there .

Harry's task now is to tighten up a defence that is far too generous to its opponents for its own good. Like Krancjar do you mean? Try Ferdinand. My point was that a 'bright young manager' may well be inclined to try Neds or even Harriman or Ehmer instead of playing an aged ex England International that he has no affiliation with or allegiances to. At this stage we are in the bottom 3 so on current form and if the season ended now then whichever way you look at it we'd be gone. No one surely can dispute that. But no one gets relegated and no one wins the league after 6 games so there's enough time to pull this around. Even that awful team of 2 season's ago got some results against the big boys and no doubt our day is going to come and we'll turn over one of the top dogs too. Right now, though, it does look bleak. If we can get something from the West Ham game then who knows what will happen. A clean sheet would mean the world right now though, because our current defensive record is not sustainable if we want to stay up and win matches.

and who are all these "kids" that are ready to jump straight into the Premier League?. Throwing a couple into an established mid-table Championship team can be worth the risk but not in the PL. We are paying now for the lack of foresight of previous owners and management for years in not building a proper youth set up. The other problem of course has been that most 15 year olds given the choice of Chelsea or Arsenal etc or QPR were likely to sign up to the big names hoping they will make it big. Some may have been more realistic and aimed to be a big fish in a smaller pond by coming to us if we had a decent academy to come to. Look at Southampton - they developed players through, sold them at over inflated prices in the last window and have quietly spent a fortune in the last 4 months to buy a new team - but still made a profit on the summer transfers in the process. They were small like us but have shown what can be done. No reason why we cannot do the same despite the theories of "we are small so we will always be small" supporters. But that takes the time and patience that many on here will not accept. You actually kind of argued against yourself here. Southampton can do it in part because in their catchment area they are the top dogs. Portsmouth aren't a threat to them anymore. QPR has Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and West Ham all in the same city. That's not to say that Saints didn't do an awful lot of things right when they first dropped out of the Prem and decided that they needed to start afresh, because they did and we sure as hell didn't. But the challenge of recruiting and maintaining local talent is a lot easier in a one club town than it is in a multi club metropolis where you are the poor relatives in a football sense.

Before the signings thought we would struggle as to be honest we were rubbish last season and only crept in the back door for promotion. Now although we haven't got off to the best of starts still feel we will be ok.
Didn't expect anything at Spurs or Man Utd Should have took at least a point against Hull expected win against Sunderland Stoke look a decent side and for me won't be in bottom half and who could have expected Southampton to get off to the start they have after all their summer sales but also look a decent side and can't see them being in bottom half either.
We seem to have said this a lot over the last few season but we've had a lot of injuries to deal with Faulin,Barton,Mutch,Sandro all from central midfield. Also for me our pre season was rubbish not enough tough games which you have to look at the management for. How many times is HR going to say about players not being fit? By the time they are the season will be over. Remy leaving was also bad management should have tied him up or sold him earlier.
Even though with everything said I think we will be ok come the end of the season but only because I believe there are 3 worse teams than us in this league!!!!

Since I didn't really reply to the original question in my last post, I will here. I expected us closer to mid-table and probably about 6-8 points at this point. Most of all, expected a much better backfield and much fewer goals allowed. The attacking play is about where I thought it would be, as we have been scoring goals lately and I didn't think goals would come easy judging from last season. At this point, we definitely need points in the next few games and Harry needs to get this defence to stop leaking goals. A 1-0 victory over West Spam would be perfect.

My two boys play in the Surrey Youth League and Southampton have scout at lots of the top games along with Reading,Fulham and I've even heard of boys being picked up by Norwich. These are Boys QPR should be challenging for.
