I also thought that Vargas was ok. in fact, he was our best player in the first half. He kept makiing runs that should have been rewarded with passes but we dallied & played a sideways five yard pass insead.
Traore had a far better second half after looking off the pace earlier on but Isla had one of those games where everything went wrong.
Thankfully Niko salvaged a point for us & for me, this was his best game as a Rangers man.

Once Vargas settles in more he'll be brilliant for us, his runs off the ball are just what we need.
Henry did well when he came on and I would certainly start him next week against Southampton if Sandro isn't fully fit.

For the record I thought trade played really well! Rory whilst I agree it's too early to say we're doomed, even at this point these can be seen as "must win" games because at home we need to beat the "lesser" teams to have any chance at all. All said and done this was the same team that BEAT champions man city so hold off the panic button for a while yet

West Ham beat Liverpool
We can't accept being grateful to get a point from Stoke...and then graceful defeats to the bigger team.
I think we'll have a better idea in a few more games.
Our trouble is we have 24 players available - forget SWP....And already injuries
And unlike some other teams, realistically no one from the U-21s available to us...

Isla played a shocker.
Henry surprised me as he brought a lot of solid play required. Him and Barton did quite well.
Fer and Mutch didnt really do much. Excuse the pun.
Phillips tried but is not yet up to the standards required at this level but he is young.
Traore looked out of place at left back and got caught a few times. I thought he looked lazy for the first 25 mins but then improved. Lose that shocking hair cut and beard or at least trim them tidily.
Nico motm by a country mile.
This team really need to concentrate on getting the basics right before trying the party tricks. They might work in italy or where ever but here.

We've played 5 games, I fail to see how anyone can say we're destined for relegation already..... Not sure anyone can say that yet Rory but we do need to start doing things better. Seem to be conceding too many goals for my liking . Is that 11 in five games . Appreciate we have travelled to OT and WHL but thats alot of goals. Isla seems to be finding it hard, taking time to settle. Think he was used to playing 3-5-2 ? I am going to be interested in How many Utd stick past Leics to see how that promoted team does against that team we played last week. We have some awful games coming up so we cant afford to get nothing at South'n and WHU . So far we havnt scored an away goal so will be interesting to see our away form against others . Not a great time to be playing Southampton or West Ham , both look decent .

Rory, fair point mate.
However, as stated by harr above, 11 goals conceded in 5 games is unsustainable. That puts us on course to concede 80 goals over the season. No team in our position can ship that many goals and hope to survive.
Right now it seems like only a matter of time before Newcastle and Burnley overtake us and we drop into the bottom 3.
We need to see a good solid performance away from home. I'm hoping they produce one at St Mary's this coming weekend and I'd happily take a point from that one.

We should have got something from the hull game, and have got results against two other steady premiership teams. So let's keep things in perspective. GD is the worry for me....we need clean sheets and Sandro is important to giving protection and us becoming much more robust at the back. I think Isla and Vargas will come good but they are new to the Prem and we need to get behind them and encourage them. Individually each and every player needs to concentrate and do their job Ferdinand and Isla included. Then we will begin to play and gel as a team. We already have the players and ability to be good enough to compete but we need to start believing and performing and to have a go at teams so they don't think we are there for the taking.
