QPR duo to be assessed ahead of Saturday's Premier League match against Stoke City ...
R’S MIDFIELD duo Joey Barton and Jordon Mutch will undergo fitness tests ahead of the visit of Stoke City to Loftus Road on Saturday.
The pair, who missed last weekend’s 4-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford, face a race against time to be fit for the lunchtime kick-off versus the Potters in W12.
“We’ve got a few knocks,” Harry Redknapp told www.qpr.co.uk.
“Joey has a hamstring and Jordon has a slight knock as well, but we’ll assess them ahead of the weekend.
“Yun (Suk Young) is fit and (Eduardo) Vargas is available.”
The Potters head into the fixture on the back of a 1-0 loss at home to Leicester City, but Redknapp is expecting a tough test against Mark Hughes’s men, commenting: "I watched Stoke last week against Leicester and thought they were unlucky. It'll be a tough game.
“Mark has done a very good job there and he will come here looking for a win.”
Redknapp added: "We want to get a positive result this weekend. Our fans will be right behind us and we'll be looking to win the game.
"I've been pleased with our home performances. I think we've played well at Loftus Road so far.
"We're at home so we want to be on the front foot and get after them. We'll be positive."
An ankle injury is likely to keep Adel Taarabt sidelined this weekend, as Rangers aim to register their second win of the 2014/15 Barclays Premier League season.
