FLashback 2 years...what we were saying then
Is it just me or is anyone else excited by the prospect that we might keep Remy on? He's awfully good.

I'm sure all of us would love to have an "up for it" Remy on board. But at best he will be playing, if at all, to get away so all we can hope for is for him to do us a favour and bang a few in whilst he's here.
Anyway no fashion conscious Frenchman would be seen dead in our new strip!

Best we can hope for is him staying until January IMO.
Reckon Liverpool will actually come back in for him but whether Remy will want to go there now after they've messed him about is another matter.

With Remy here by Christmas we will be in a Champions League position and so he won't want to leave! ........and pigs will fly and we'll all be shooting bacon!

The changing room is quite a good place to be at the moment and Remy might like the togetherness of the team and choose to be part of it. If he does not put it in and struts around the place like a peacock, he will probably be ironed out by Green, Dunne, Hill, Onahura, Barton, Henry, Bobby or Charlie, as I am sure they wont let the one for all attitude slip.
Add to that Culker and Ferdinand looking to make their mark, I would love Remy, Taarabt or a another to try it on, as soap bars and socks could be used.

That Liverpool business was/is bizare to say the least and the real resons still ellusive!! I wonder if his off pitch antics are a cause for concern...anyhow I agree with Paul our dressing room wont tolerate fools.
I'm not saying that he will act up because I think if he's here he''ll want to play in every game! Whether thats driven by self interest or hopefully a desire to do well for the club, IMO we've had a right result if he stays!

From talksport Exclusive - QPR chief Fernandes on Remy: 'Liverpool's loss is our gain' By Alex Varney (@lexvarney) | Wednesday, August 13, 2014 QPR chairman Tony Fernandes is 'optimistic' Loic Remy will remain a Hoops player this season. After spending last season on loan at Newcastle, the France international had been expected to move on permanently this summer. But he is still on the books at Loftus Road after a proposed move to Liverpool fell through at the last minute, and Fernandes is hoping it stays that way. Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, the west London club's Malaysian owner said: “It is Liverpool’s loss and our gain. "I have a special relationship with Remy from playing FIFA with him and I hope to continue playing FIFA 15 with him throughout the season! "Nothing is ever cast in stone in football, but I am moderately optimistic Remy will be wearing the Hoops' shirt throughout this season.” Rangers, promoted via the Championship play-offs last season, mark their Premier League return by welcoming Hull City to Loftus Road on the opening day of the season on Saturday. Fernandes admits QPR's last experience of the top-flight was an 'unmitigated disaster', but he insists they have learned the lessons of the 2012/13 campaign, when they were relegated despite spending huge sums on big-name players. Jordon Mutch, Steven Caulker and Rio Ferdinand have arrived at Loftus Road this summer, and Fernandes feels, unlike last time, Harry Redknapp has the right type of characters in his squad for the club to survive. “We didn’t go enough research [ahead of the 2012/13 season],” he conceded. “We just looked at the player, looked at his experience and assumed he had the right character, assumed he would gel with other people, assumed he would put in 100 per cent, and obviously it was an unmitigated disaster. “This time we have really looked at the character. We have looked at whether the character will work with other players, we have looked at whether the player will add value to our squad, or be a passenger. “If you look at the transfers brought in, I think we have done a pretty good job. Time will tell, obviously, but we think we have been smarter in what we have done this time around.” Read more at talksport.com/football/exclusive-qpr-chief-fernandes-remy-liverpools-loss-our-gain-140813107309#6RZyMuDf2PtI4bFT.99
I think he'll either be here for the whole season or not at all.
I think you are right. I would like to see it as the whole season but only if he shows commitment although if he doesn't it will not do his cause much good.

As we've seen in the recent and more distant past: If players are not motivated to play for QPR/or want away: They quickly cease to be worth having. Think Cisse...Think John Spencer in his second season

Latest press speculation - Fernandes rejects Townsend/Kane and Remy swop and Harry not happy. Probably nonsense but if true I think I would understand Harry's point. Clearly he wants guys who want to play for the team and not themselves. Still our Tone is the boss and maybe he can smooth talk Remy into becoming a dedicated Ranger.

Latest press speculation - Fernandes rejects Townsend/Kane and Remy swop. I think that's just the press extrapolating from TF's comment on his TalkSport interview that he likes Remy, has a special (Playstation FIFA playing) relationship with him and that he expects Remy to be playing for us come the start of the season. There was no suggestion that Remy was not available, nor any reference to, let alone rejection of, a Townsend/Kane deal. Usual lazy journalism whipping up a 'sensational' headline/story.

If anyone believes Remy is "too good a guy" to leave us in the lurch. ..I strongly doubt that. If Chelsea or Arsenal came in for him at one minute to midnight, deadline day, I think He'd jump at it...and F* QPR and the Nintendo Games!

Unless he wants to go to Newcastle then I think its safe to say he'll be staying as I can't see any of the other top 4 sides coming 8 for him now.
In fairness he's not really top 4 standard, not yet anyway.

Not sure I would agree he is not top 4 yet. His record with us and Newcastle speaks for itself and Liverpool obviously thought so as well. Hopefully it will not be put to test before January at the earliest unless we see a miracle happen and get there ourselves before then.
Gramps is snorting with laughter and just managed to spit coffee all over the computer keyboard!!!!

I have no problem keeping him, maybe get a striker on loan just to be safe. Wouldn't mind Joel Campbell from Arsenal, he doesn't seem to be staying there.

Have always wanted Remy to stay and now starting to feel he will. It may only be until January but he may have scored around 10 goals by then if stays fit and that can only help us in our quest for survival. Hopefully will play in behind Austin and pick up any scraps!!!!

Hopefully will play in behind Austin and pick up any scraps!!!! Why only till January? Unlikely that the same clubs in the top 4 that didn't go for him this summer are going to suddenly want him in January. They all know what he can do so I can't see what he's going to do between now and then to suddenly make them want him when they don't now. Arsenal could have had him if they wanted him. Chelsea chose to sign an aging fading legend rather than invest in Lukaku or buy Remy and if they get him now its only cos Drogba is injured. There's absolutely no room at the inn for him in Man City. Liverpool nixed the deal for whatever reasons are best known only to them and don't appear to be about to revisit it. His best hope for any European football whilst still playing in the Prem is surely either Spurs or Everton. Or a move to a CL team abroad.

Let's get him past the end-of-the-month deadline first! Wouldnt be surprised to see him leave...If any of the top 4 clubs need a boost..

Playing well today (at HT). Why would he want to warm the bench at Chelscum or the arse when he can start with us? Never get 20 goals in a season on the bench.

I think he'll feel frustrated as he clearly see's himself as better than anyone else here (and maybe he is) but he will no doubt not have enjoyed especially the second half today.
