27/01/2014 By Jordan Foster QPR defender Danny Simpson believes Matt Phillips has been a “great addition” since signing from Blackpool. The Scotland international, 22, has featured 20 times for Rangers this season, scoring three goals after his move from Bloomfield Road. Phillips has found himself on the bench in recent weeks, but Simpson believes the winger will be vital for the promotion push this year. “He came here with an injury originally and it’s a big club with some big players here, no disrespect to Blackpool, so it probably didn’t help him settle,” Simpson said. “He’s getting stronger and stronger as the season goes on. He’s been growing in confidence and scoring a few goals. “He’s a great lad and a hard worker, he’s got bags of energy and he can get from one end of the pitch to the other in seconds and is a great crosser of the ball. He’s been a great addition for us.” www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/phillips-hailed-as-a-great-addition-for-qpr?
