Shows how tough it's going to be to get out of this Division (to stay in this division)

Results from those first five fixtures in August, alone, should be a pretty good indicator for the rest of the season, methinks... I won't be expecting much if we start September with only five points!

Who devises these fixtures?
One of the few fixtures to look forward to is the prospect of a weekend in Brighton
We're there on a Tuesday night in March...
Plus the Autumn International breaks and our fixture tormentor have contrived to create 2 four week Home Game blanks between 17 Aug - 14 Sept and 5 Oct - 2 Nov
Last game at Barnsley..

What's happened to my avatar of Dave Thomas?

... and another thing! What's happened to my avatar of Dave Thomas? When proboards changed last week, all avatars left. So each of us has to individually put back our own Avatar. It's only thanks to Haqpr1963, that people without having chosen their Avatar, have this wonderful QPR Avatar. Previously the default Avatar was some Proboards Monster!

I won't be expecting much if we start September with only five points! The Championship doesn't work that way. Reading came from nowhere to win the Championship the season before last. Bolton nearly made the playoffs last season after looking relegation candidates in February. If there was ever an easier season to win this division I've yet to see it. All the teams who have been consistently strong in this division over the last few years are already in the Prem now. This season its wide open. And a bad start is recoverable easily enough in this league.

But there's nothing like getting off to a flyer, as we know from 2010-11! I do wonder if, come October, you'll still think this is a relatively easy year to go up? My feeling is we'll be stuck in a cycle of dismal draws... I hope I'm wrong, but it still feels like everyone in the club is still in denial about our situation...

According to the BBC site, we're playing Woking away in a friendly on 3rd August as well.

Reason being we have a team of players with split-personalities.

I do not like the fixtures facing us in March and April. Almost all those teams we play I expect to be pushing hard for promotion. Not good

My feeling is we'll be stuck in a cycle of dismal draws... I hope I'm wrong, but it still feels like everyone in the club is still in denial about our situation... I think its a relatively easy season anyway, regardless of where we finish. Last season in the Prem was one of the easiest in recent years to stay up as there were a lot of poor teams, but we still went down. The fact that we may end up playing like a badgers arse still doesn't take away the fact that, for me anyway, this is a fairly open Championship. Cardiff has perennially been the Championship team there of thereabouts for years now but they are out of the way now. Norwich and Southampton gone too. The teams left are the teams that have been average for several seasons now. Forest, Leeds, Watford (who will not be able to loan their starting XI now) and Bolton appear to be the best of the rest now. Not exactly Man Utd, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea and Spurs. You can throw in Reading and Wigan too, but, really, a manager like Redknapp with the resources available should really be sending out a team that can easily live with that list of clubs. However, this is QPR so we all know that it can all go horribly wrong.

Not good I wish I had some expectations of who will do well this season & be at the top of the championship. Or who will be struggling. Wild guesses are that Leicester, Bolton & Ipswich will be close to the top. Leeds & Forest may challenge for a while but will flatter to deceive. Towards the bottom might include Millwall, Brighton, Blackpool, Yeovil & possibly Watford (depending on who they are allowed to sign). We could be in either group but a season of mid table mediocrity might be just what we need.

Please, please, please don't loose at home to Huddersfield 0-5 on the opening day!! Please! I have looked forward to this away fixture with Hudd with baited breath since relegation. I have made big plans for it. I intend to spend the whole weekend up there, and I could see my daughter and her baby triplets at the same time too. Pity we are not playing Leeds on the Tuesday night so I could see them too. Her husband is a (lapsed) Leeds supporter.

Most pundits have us, Reading or Bolton as faves to be Champions.
At NPC level there's a lot of talent here, the question of course is the attitude and application. However, I can't see a Redknapp built team turn in lacklustre, couldn't give a damn performances week in week out in the NPC. So, for that reason alone, I have to believe that the players we start with on August 3rd will be guys who do want to play for QPR and get us back to the top flight.
There are plenty of those types here already and the ones that we have been linked with moving on (Granero, Park, Bosingwa, Barton) are all players who would appear to be in the overpaid and 'Championship level is beneath me' bracket. Guys like Onouha, Hill, Jenas, Green and Mackie all look like they will be committed to the cause next term.
Harry has consistently said that there are plenty of good uns here, just some real bad eggs that spoil it.
